I hear the knock on my dorm room door and instantly know It's Ben. We texted on Wednesday night, 2 days after sleeping round his and confirmed that we were going out today for Lunch. At Penny's, of course. Turns out he enjoys the food there. He said he would come knock and pick me up. And that's what's going on right now.

I slip on my white cardigan before opening, walking out and shutting the door as quickly as possible. If it's left open for more than a second, the girls would end up making a whole conversation from their beds.

Ben smiles at me, taking my hand. "Sleep well?"

"Yeah. Alright. You? Sam didn't keep you up screaming again, right?"

He squeezes my hand. "Thankfully, no. I slept well though."

"Good." I walk up to his car and open the door to climb in.

When he's in the car with me, he begins to speak again.

"George started talking about Kayla." He turns to me and smirks.

"Really...?" I smile to myself.

"He said he found her through Instagram? Started chatting her up and now they're going to the fair together." He starts up the car and puts it in reverse, driving us out of the parking spot and then moving forward to the open gates.

"They are? Kayla never said anything about that to me." I frown. She would always tell me this stuff, even if she didn't want to admit it, I would always get it out of her. AND we talked through the phone yesterday. "She said nothing about George last night." I speak.

"Maybe she was planning on telling you in person?" He suggested taking the corner towards the motorway.

"Maybe." I shrug it off. If she doesn't want to say anything, maybe it's just a friendly, casual thing. I could always ask George about it, but there's really no point when we will see them together in 2 days.

"Don't think too far into it." Ben brings his hand across the middle console and pats my thigh before giving it a small squeeze.

"I won't. I will just bring it up on Sunday."

I look out the window, pressing down the button for it to roll down and open, but when it gets halfway, it stops, even though I'm still holding it down. I remove my finger, and the window rolls back up. I turn to Ben.

"Did you do that or is your car broken?" I ask, raising my eyebrow.

"Cars not broken. Just too cold." He gives me a small smile before focusing back on the road. Too cold my ass.

I go to open the window again, but he does the same. I roll my eyes. He saw it but didn't comment on it.

We drive to Penny's cafe in silence, he doesn't even allow me to put the radio on because he 'needs to focus on driving and the radio is too loud.' I offer to just lower the volume, but he says it still distracts him. So, I deal with silence, which leaves me wiggling and bored in the car.

We get to my grandma's and the bell rings as we walk through the entrance doors. Unfortunately for me, she's serving today...

"Elaine! So nice to see you back! You seem to be visiting more and more." She pulls me in for a hug. "And I love it." She whispers comfortably.

"I love it too, Penny." I smile as I pull back and watch as her eyes scan over to Ben. He stands awkwardly behind me.

"Who's this?" Penny asks, a look of confusion painted across her face.

"This is Ben. Ben, this is Penny, my grandma and also the owner of this cafe." I smile at him, encouraging him to give her some kind of greeting. He holds his hand out, but Penny takes it and pulls him in for a hug.
