"Ah! Zion...nice to see you aga- Wait. Why is she in a blindfold?" Whoever the lady at the front desk is, she seems to know me, but I don't know her.
"Can we just have our room number?" I feel a jab on my side and look down to see Elaine looking up at me. From what I can see of her face, she seems to be scowling.
"Please?" I sigh and she stops poking me and looks back down at nothing.
"Room 40. On the third floor." The lady at the desk passes over a piece of paper along with a room key.
I grab hold of Elaine's hand again and begin to walk off, but I feel a pinch on my thumb. Fucking hell...
Elaine uses her spare hand and raises her blindfold just enough for one eye to peek through. She gives me a stare and I let out a long sigh, looking ahead where Kasku's already walked through the door.
"Thank you." I have to almost shout it because I've walked away already.
"No problem!" The cheery person calls back.
I look back at Elaine and her proud smile. I feel my own fighting to come out and quickly pull down her blindfold.
It ends up wonky, but it won't be on her for long.
We all head up to the third floor and the 40th door number tag.
I slide the card and the door beeps before Kasku pushes it open.
I guide Elaine in before pulling her to a halt.
"Are we here? Can I finally take this thing off now?" She goes to tug the blindfold off, but I lightly hit her hands away.
In all honesty, I am petrified for what I have brought Elaine to. Apparently, according to Kayla, which I know I shouldn't trust, but she promised this, and I know for a fact Elaine and her friends take those things very seriously, Elaine has always wanted to do this. And it's the one thing she hasn't done this year that she's wanted to do besides learning to drive.
That's something for another time, though.
"You ready?" Kasku looks at me with a smirk.
I take a glance at the fenced room along with the two wooden targets hung up on the wall in front of us. The axes lining a singular wall and the two columns separating the two throwing allies. I was able to get the room last minute all thanks to Simon. Which I will have to thank him properly later for.
I begin to undo the bow I tied, and the Blindfold then drops to the floor.
I'm standing behind Elaine, so I don't get her first look. And her first reaction. But I go off of Kasku's facial expressions. And from his big smile, and Elaine's bobbing feet, I would guess she's pretty happy.
"Who told you about this?" She turns around, finally letting me see her beautiful, gleaming smile.
I can't help the smile that follows on my own face. Her happiness is my happiness. As long as she's smiling, I'm smiling.
I don't say anything, and she tilts her head to the side. "It was Kayla, wasn't it..." She smirks at me and as I shrug.
She bursts out into a laugh. Her feet jump up and down off the ground and before I know it, she's jumping at me, wrapping her legs around my waist and her arms around my neck.
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" She whispers the words in my ear as she hugs me tightly. I don't know if she means to, but I feel the lightest kiss against my neck as she slides herself off my body and back down to ground. Even if she didn't mean to, I wouldn't mind more.
