Ivy
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Bianca asked me. I can understand the concern she has for me. The plan is risky but I can't just sit by the sideline and let the man I love take the fall alone.
"It's done. I've already made the first move. There's nothing more to be discussed." I said, leaving no room for discussion as I fixed my hair into its usual neat bun.
Yesterday, I had a nice chat with a DEA officer we have on our payroll. This resulted in a surprise raid on a certain group. A group that happens to be a very important supplier to a certain Garcia cartel.
"What did Luke say?" She asked me, fully knowing what Luke would say. He would most definitely have an issue with my plan, there's no doubt about it. Which is exactly why I need to do this.
"He doesn't need to know," I answered in the same manner. I dangle a teardrop earring embellished with a large ruby stone up to my ears. It matches my dress but looks a bit much if I'm honest, perhaps a simple gold hoop would be better.
"Ivy! This is highly dangerous and I would hate it if something went wrong. And you end up getting hurt." Bianca's pleading words almost swayed me. Almost.
But I've already got the ball rolling, and all my efforts would have been for nothing if I don't go through with this. All that's left to do now is to deliver the goods on a silver platter, figuratively speaking.
"If you go through with this, I'm telling dad." She said with her arms folded across her chest, trying to look tough while she gave me an ultimatum.
"Don't you dare. You know what will happen if you do that. It'll only make things worse." I finally turn to her, sending her daggers with my eyes.
I should feel bad for snitching on the Martinez. But in all honesty, I never liked them much. They were bad news. They weren't just a reckless bunch, they are also some of the worst people alive. I won't bat an eye if they only stick to peddling drugs or pushing guns. But they also deal with human trafficking, now that is where I draw the line. So when the opportunity arise, I just couldn't help myself. Plus, their loss, will be Luke's gain.
"Fine, I'll tell Luke. Maybe he'll talk some sense into you." She said, backing off a little with her compromise.
"Bea." I cry her name, my lips slightly pouting and my eyes begging her to reconsider. "I love him. I can't just sit back and watch knowing he's going to come back, hurt."
"I still don't think this is a good idea, Ivy."
"All I'm going to do is go in there and present them with the offer that he can't refuse. Garcia is going to pay him more than what he'll lose to Don Bonucci. It's a win win."
I can see her wavering a little. But time is running out, I can't stay and argue anymore. Picking up my dark sunglasses and purse, I give her a quick peck on the cheek.
