"Yesterday's training session." Speed started. "I'm not going to lie to you. You guys sucked." Everyone murmured in agreement. "It may only be the second day of training, but I need a team of aviators not 13 separate ones."
"Today, we will be doing a bit of a different more teamwork based exercise." Speed grinned. "How 'bout a little game of volleyball?"
Yale raised his hand. "Yes?" Speed raised an eyebrow.
"How is this supposed to help our dogfighting?" He asked.
"Ah, thank you for asking this question. You guys are all great dogfighters separately. You get the gist I'm not going to say teamwork five hundred more times. Go get ready and meet me at the beach. 1 pm sharp." Speed shooed them off and the aviators departed.
Bria began to walk out of the hangar. "Siren!" Phoenix yelled and Bria stopped in her tracks.
"What's up?" She asked. "Do you think we can get ready at your house? I know some of my stuff is there and I don't feel like going to mine."
"Sure, come on we got to be quick though. The boys will hound us if we are late." She laughed and the two left.
Contrary to what Bria had said, they were late. Halo didn't want to drive so Bria and Phoenix picked her up. The trio rolled up to the beach, a good 20 minutes late, and found a group of 13 very impatient men waiting for them.
"Look who decided to show up." Payback hollered at them.
"Look who decided to show up looking like that." Phoenix refuted and Payback let out a fake gasp. "How rude."
Speed came up behind them, surprisingly also late. "Alright, is the net set up?" She asked.
"All ready, ma'am." Rooster said and adjusted his aviators.
"Good, I'll split y'all into teams." Speed said and everyone gathered around the admiral. "Let's see. Red Team. Fritz, Payback, Rooster, Phoenix, Yale, Coyote and Halo. Green Team. Bob, Harvard, Fanboy, Siren, Hangman, Omaha and me."
"Shit." Phoenix pinched the bridge of her nose.
"Shit? What do you mean by shit?" Rooster questioned as the two separate team went to their sides of the net.
"Siren was the captain of the volleyball team in high school and actually turned down a volleyball scholarship from USC to join the Navy." Phoenix explained "Then she was Captain of the team at the Academy. She is quite the athlete."
"We'll shit." Rooster agreed.
"Yep, that is a true shit."
"Alright let's go!" Bria yelled getting excited "What are the rules of the game Speed?"
"There are two rules, if the ball goes out of bounds it's a point for the other team and the second one is you have to work as a team."
"That's it?" Bria looked at her confused.
"That's it." Speed confirmed. "Now let's play!"
