Y/n's pov:

Chuck and I sat in the floor of the hut while he tried to braid my hair. "So," he began. "That story last night."

"What about it?" I asked.

"It felt too real to be a story," he explained. "It gave off the feeling that it actually happened. Like it happened to you. Did it?"

I sighed in defeat. Gally has been the only person I told about my past. "Yes, it's a true story. And it happened to me."

"So you really had a brother?"

"Yes."

"What was his name? What did he look like? Is he in the glade with us?"

"He's not in the glade with us, that's for sure. He was really shy and could be quiet sometimes, but he knew a lot about a lot of people."

"So what's his name?"

"His name is A-"

I was cut off by a knock at the door. With a grunt, I got off the ground and opened the door. Newt was standing there with a small cardboard box in his hands.

"Hey, Y/n," Newt cheerfully greeted. "This came up in the box for you yesterday and I forgot to give it to you."

He handed be the box with a note on top of it and smiled. "Thanks, Newt."

"No problem. Hope you feel better soon." At that note, he left to the gardens where he usually hangs out.

I shut the door and walked back over to Chuck, who was staring at the box in my hands with anticipation. "What's in the box?" He asked when I sat down.

"That's what I'm going to find out."

I grabbed the note on top first, I quickly recognised my handwriting on the top half.

Dear WICKED,
I'd like to make a strange request for this month's supply delivery. Could you please send up a pair of size (shoe size) ballet slippers. Preferably pointe ones and in (favourite colour).
Thanks, love Y/n

I laughed at my silly request and read the bottom half of the note.

Dear Y/n,
As your request was quite entertaining to the thought, I've decided to send up your shoes. I hope you enjoy them and that the boys find it entertaining when you dance in them (especially Gally).
Love your friends at WICKED, Teresa  and Thomas

I opened up the cardboard box and to my delight, there was a beautiful pair of pointe shoes in (favourite colour). I squealed in delight and Chuck looked at me like I was high.

"What are they?" He asked, looking at the shoes in curiosity.

"Ballet shoes," I replied. "Let me show you how they work." I got up and sat on the bed, carefully taking the shoes out of the box.

(A/n: I've never done ballet so I don't know how the pointe shoes work, no matter how many times my bestie who does ballet tells me. So bare with me on this part).

I threw off my sneakers and delicately slipped on my new shoes. When the ribbons were perfectly tied how my mother taught me, I stood up, my feet flat on the floor. "Alright Chuck, we're going outside for this part."

The two of us left the hut and walked out to where the box is. The cement flooring was flat enough for me to do my thing. I grabbed my violin from my bag and tuned the strings.

Chuck sat patiently on the grass in front of me while I tested out my slippers. Gally, Newt, Zart, Winston and a few other gladers joined the greenie as they grew curious of my actions.

I took a deep breath and rose to the tips of my toes. The boys all gasped and their shocked faces made me chuckle. I put my violin up to my neck and remembered what my mother taught me.

Shatter me by Lindsey Stirling

The guys all watched in awe as I danced, sang and played the violin at the same time. When the song was over, I stood back on flat feet taking a deep breath.

Everyone applauded, even Jake, who I didn't know would be there. By the time everyone had calmed down, the runners were back and it was time for dinner.
