Charles:
I watch after Mary. As soon as I said it, I regretted it.
"I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking." I apologize. And then I too look to get away. I have no idea what possessed me to say that. But I can't take it back and so I have to live with it now.The next morning I wake up with a start from a deep sleep. Mary is sitting by my bed. She wears comfortable clothing with our school's logo on it. Her hair falls down her back in long waves. I look at her angrily.
"Why the hell are you sitting by my bed?"
"Why do you keep teleporting back and forth?" she replies stubbornly.
"And that's why you scare me so much?" I say. Suddenly I'm really mad at her. I'd like to kill her! But I don't show it and stand up.
"Why do you three always have to go topless?" she asks reproachfully. I stop demonstratively in front of her and watch her very closely. Finally she turns away and looks closely at her fingernails. I get dressed with a grin.
"And why are you here now? Not that it bothers me!" Why can't I shut up for once? Do I always have to talk crap like that? Marry doesn't seem completely relaxed either.
"The professor wants to see us," she says simply.
"What do you mean?" I ask while Marry says: "You seriously want me to lose control? And then Charles should calm me down? You're not serious!?" We're sitting in the professor's office. Charles Xavier and the other X Men, including our parents, face us.
"We can understand that you don't want that, but..." begins Marie. But I just look at her. Like every day, she wears thin fabric gloves and her hair is loose. Her two white strands stand out very strongly.
"What if I hurt Charles? Or worse, if I kill him?" She literally spits out the last word.
"You won't!" I counter. But she just looks at me silently.
"Mary is right in her comment. But if we do, we'll never get Marry's powers under control. If we know the extent of it, then maybe we can make an antiserum and prevent the worst from happening," concludes Robert, aka Bobby, Drake his wife's sentence. Mary gets up and paces around. She is playing around with her pendant again. Finally she stops and looks intently at Aunt Jean.
"Suppose I agree and go through with it, can you make sure I don't hurt anyone or intervene if the situation gets out of hand?" There is a tense silence for some time. Jean's forehead creases. Finally she nods slowly.
"I could make a serum using Henry's leftover notes, though I don't think it would last long. I could run some tests to be sure, though. If you let me."
"Wait a minute, Hank left his notes here?" asks Uncle Scott, surprised. Mom, Aunt Vanessa and Bobby also look surprised. Jean, who has been perched on the back of a sofa, gets up and looks at everyone in turn.
"Well, as some of you know, Hank didn't leave voluntarily at the time. When he left, he left in a hurry. I don't know exactly what he left behind, but I've discovered some very interesting things lately," she explains .
"And you think they could help Clara?" I ask cautiously.
"I'm not usually for such actions, but I think we should dare. Because my feeling tells me that something will happen in the foreseeable future. And I don't want to endanger any student. And I also firmly believe that you can do it you can, Marianne.", the professor speaks up. I look at the bald mutant. Suddenly he looks years older. Even if he's not that old.
"Do I have any other option than taking part?" Marry asks quietly. Her voice is shaking noticeably and I can imagine how she must be feeling. Professor's face instantly softens. "Marianne, you don't have to worry. No matter what happens, you won't cause too much damage. And besides, we can help you. You only have to lose control once so that we can better assess the extent of your power. ' Charles tries to calm her down. I get up and go to Mary. I stop right in front of her and look at her. I'm well aware that everyone is watching us.
"Listen, Gardenweed, it's okay no matter what. If I volunteer, it's my fault. I wouldn't have to volunteer," I tell her and then turn to Jean . "Why can't Max do it? After all, he's Marry's older brother. Why me of all people?"
"Because I found out that she reacts to you very differently than to the others. She seems to feel differently about you than she should!" she says, brooding. Both Mom and Aunt Vanessa wince slightly. I give my cousin an inconspicuous look. She seems to see right through me, even when she's looking my way. Apparently, she seems completely lost in thought. Suddenly she straightens up.
"All right. I will accept my fate and take this risk. But on the condition that Charles is the only one who puts himself in danger.", she admits defeat. The professor and Jean nod in unison.Current:
After Charles and Clara leave, the rest of us remain in the professor's office. I still can't get out of my mind what Jean said. That Marry feels more for Charles than she should. But does it also mean that Charles also feels more for her than he should? My eyes fall on my wedding ring. Back when Peter and I got married, I never thought I would have such concerns.
