The alliance between the X Men and the Avengers

A dead man's unexpected help

Charles:

"I wouldn't say that..." says a male voice behind me. I turn around in sync with the other two. And I don't believe my own eyes.
"Stryker?" my cousin and I ask at the same time. The former soldier and creator of Logan stands before us. Smiling, he turns around his own axis.
"I see you're well informed. Well, then I can get straight to the point."
"The one there?" I ask neutrally.
"Magneto was released. Not voluntarily, anyway. He was accompanied by a man in a black coat and an eye patch. They got into a car."
"Why should we believe you?" I ask.
"Because I want to help you."
"That's interesting. First you give Logan this metal-like liquid and train him to become a super warrior. Then you attack the school and kidnap some students and the professor. Then you force Logan to fight his friends. What next?", asks Mary callously.
"Believe me! That guy with the eye patch didn't look very friendly."
"What nonsense! Nick would never do such a thing. He's too attached to people for that!" Morgan intervenes. Before Stryker can say anything else, I turn away.
"Let's go back. We're expected," I say.

Kitty:

The three are back very quickly. They appear right next to me as we sit in the great hall with the Avengers. I almost fell off my chair from the shock. But Logan stretches out his arm and I regain my balance.
"Children, there you are again," says Jean.
"Did you find out anything?" Marie asks curiously.
"More than that," says Charles irritably. I raise an eyebrow questioningly.
"What happened?" I ask now.
"Erik was actually released. However, someone paid the required bail," Morgan sums up the events.
"Yes and why are you so irritable now?" Logan asks confused.
"Because we met Stryker, who was actually dead," says Marry.
"He meant that Nick must have been with this guy Erik!" Morgan adds.
"Who is Nick?" Vanessa asks.
"Nick Fury. Former leader of SHIELD," explains Steve.
"Why would Nick bail a mutant out of jail?" asks Clint. He looks contrite. "Sorry!"
"It's okay."
"And what did Stryker want?" Logan asks tensely.
"He said Nick paid bail and then got in a car with Erik," Charles explains.
"I don't understand the problem right now," says Pietro.
"Stryker is dead! Do you remember what I told you about him?" Storm asks.
"No?!"
"Stryker attacked the school right after you left," Storm summarizes.
"And he kidnapped some of the students. Scott and the professor as well. He wanted the professor to kill all mutants with his gift.", Jean continues the events.
"And why should he actually be dead?" Wanda asks, visibly confused.
"Because I killed him with my own hands." Logan spoke up again. Laura and Pepper look at him in shock.
"Then how can he be here?"
"That's the weird thing." Bobby says lightly.
"I don't know how you see it, but I don't think it's okay at all." I say angrily.
"She's right. You may have been on the jet but you weren't there. And believe me you don't really want to see it," says Kurt. He's been silent the whole time.
"Assuming everything is true, what can we do now?" asks Scott. No, not our Scott, but the one from the Avengers.
"If everything is correct, then it means war," says the professor seriously.
"You're not serious, Charles!" Ashley asks doubtfully.
"Yes, because we have to assume that Erik has switched sides again."
"And what should we do about it?"
"We should convince Erik with reason."
"Only that he's no friend of reason," says Pietro.
"And that's why we have to solve it by force.", the professor determines.
"I'm in," says Raven. She suddenly stands in the room and looks around. Her typical blue skin with red hair and yellow eyes.
"Mystique! What are you doing here?" the professor asks in astonishment.
"Hello bro. Isn't it nice to see all the X Men again," she says. Out of the corner of my eye, I see alertness on the Avengers' side.
"I brought you someone else," she says happily. As if on cue, another mutant appears. His skin color is also blue and it doesn't take me long to recognize him."
"Hank?", this time Ashley is completely confused.
"Apparently the X-Men have a love for the color blue," notes Scott.
"Hi guys, nice to be here."
"It's been a while since we last met.", Logan says with a grin.
"Hank, how do we get this honor?" asks the professor.
"I came here to check on the rights. And to say hello to old friends," he says. As I got to know him, he still wears a tailor-made suit today. His gaze lingers on Marry and Charles.
"And so you two are Lilly and Vanessa's children."
"That's right. This is Charles and I'm Marry."
"Ah. Charles and Marianne. You look like your parents. I'm sure you'll take after them too."
"I wouldn't say that. If you mean our gift," says Charles.
"It's already late. We should stop for today. Marianne, would you please take Morgan to your room? We'll continue tomorrow from this point. Until then, try to get some sleep. Good night," says the professor after looking up the clock.
