Mary:
I'm standing in the training hall with Charles and the X Men. The others stand in a circle around me. Only Charles faces me. As a precaution, our parents wear their suits. Not Charles, though, because we haven't gotten our uniforms yet. I reluctantly agreed because I didn't see any other way out.
"Well, we're going to start now. Jean, can you please give Marianne the serum?" the professor interjects. My aunt comes up to me, nodding. Then she asks me to take the hair out of my neck. As soon as I did that, I felt the cool prick of the needle. Jean slowly pushes the plunger down. As she empties the syringe, I feel cool liquid coursing through my body. Jean distances himself from me again and everyone looks at me expectantly. I can feel something breaking inside me.
"Marry, are you okay?" Charles asks worried. He takes a hesitant step towards me. But I automatically back away a bit.
"Charles. Take a step back. We have no idea what's causing the serum," Logan says.
"Great you...", but I can't get any further. Suddenly I have to double over in pain. Charles approaches me again. But I try to reject him. However, I don't necessarily succeed because I cry out in pain. I can see Dad trying to hold Mom back. Mom doesn't seem like she entirely approves of the situation.
After a while the pain subsides and I can move again to some extent. But it's not over yet. Where a terrible pain raged, now noncommittal fire burns. I feel like my whole body is on fire.
"Marry, is everything alright?" Aunt Storm now asks worried. I'm about to say no, but there comes another wave of raging fire.
"I think something's wrong!" says Bobby thoughtfully. But Jean shakes his head.
"These are the normal side effects! However, I'm surprised that it reacts so badly!", She says. I glare at my aunt.
"Great!!!" I say.Charles:
I'm pretty worried about Marry. She makes a strange impression. Whenever I try to approach her, she keeps walking away from me.
"What's that supposed to mean?" I ask over my shoulder. I see the confused face of the professor for a brief moment. But I don't say anything because I don't make horses unnecessarily shy. I turn back to Marry and flinch. Your eyes have completely changed. They glow red.
"Marry!!" I say.Mary:
I can see Charles' shocked face. He looks at me in shock and the others are also looking at me intently. My cousin holds out his hand.
"Leave me!" I hiss. I can literally feel my strength trying to free itself. I can feel Charles' hands on my arm. But I shake it off and take a step towards him. He backs away automatically. I can't help the budding disappointment. Unfortunately, this disappointment fuels my unfounded anger. I approach Charles like a hunter and he keeps retreating. Until he's pressed against the wall.
"Marry, please! I don't want anything from you.", he now calls desperately. The next thing I remember, I throw myself at Charles. And the next moment I'm not in New York anymore.
I see Mary fall on me. She looks at me bloodthirsty. But I use the moment and teleport us away. I didn't choose a specific place, but we end up in the desert.
"Why did you send us to the desert?" she shouts angrily. She attacks me. But I cleverly dodge and parry their attacks well. However, she gets angrier the more attacks I catch.
"Do you want to keep fighting like a girl?" she asks, amused. Her eyes still have a red tinge, but they no longer glow. At least for now. I've hardly finished thinking this thought when she looks at me triumphantly. Wordlessly, she raises her hands.
"Bye, bye Charles!" she says with a smile. As she spoke, strange shadows appear across her hands. I'm guessing at their power, but I'm not sure. But before I can think about it any further, she points her hands at me and I fly a few meters. Even when I land softly on the sand, I feel anything but reassured. As soon as I'm back on my feet, she's already there.
"Marry, please calm down." I call desperately. "That is not you." Her expression turns painful for a moment.
"Charles, please help me. I can't free myself from the dark force!" she cries desperately. Then her facial expression goes blank and emotionless again. Confused by her cry for help, I try to find a solution. Finally I have a plan.
"Hey Mary!" I call out. I got her attention immediately. Again she attacks me with her shadow. I dodge their attacks again. And as I thought I was successful. I manage to twist her arms behind her back. so their shadows disappear. I carefully turn her over to face me. Her facial expression instantly softens. Her red eyes are also gradually returning to their normal color.
"You see, garden plant! I will never let you down," I say. She just looks at me silently. Smiling, she pulls me down to her. Then she presses her lips to mine. Completely surprised, I return her kiss.Mary:
I am returning to New York with Charles. Neither of us say a single word about the kiss.
"Marry, Charles!" Mom, Dad, Aunt Storm and Uncle Peter look at us with relief. They literally hug us.
"What happened?" asks Uncle Peter. He examines my cousin. But we both play our roles convincingly enough not to attract attention.
"You two should take a shower and then get some sleep. Tomorrow we'll talk about today's events."
