After a few minutes of staring at my wall, still too tired to move, I went downstairs to warm up my dinner. As I was putting it in the microwave, I heard my garage door open and then close - que my parents' departure.

When my food finished heating up, I sat on the couch and turned the TV on. Everything was fine, or at least it should've been fine, except for the fact that I couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. I got up and closed all the curtains in the living room. There, now I felt safer. I went back to watching TV.

Moments later, the doorbell rang. I shrugged it off and continued what I was doing. Then it rang again - again, and then again. "Holy fucking smokes, dude." I muttered to myself. I got up and checked the window nearest to the front door. Nobody was there.

Then the banging began. Aggressive banging, might I add, not polite banging (if there's even any difference). I waited for it to subside before I peeked outside. Still, there was nobody.

"Y/f/n?" I called my friend's name - I was starting to think it was just her messing with me. Unfortunately, though, I was greeted with silence. I looked down at my doormat, which, you know, I probably shouldn't have done because there sat MY PHONE. My phone. How did it get there? Who knows? I know I don't want to know. I quickly bent down and reached my arm out to grab it. It wasn't broken, but that was the least of my worries. I swiftly shut the door in front of me and locked it.

"Fancy seeing you here." I heard from behind me.
I continued to face the door. No way was I turning around.

"You should be thankful I brought that back to you." Jake said. Now at this point, I was one, trying to fathom how he got into my home, and two, debating on calling the police. I tried turning my phone on, but conveniently, it was dead. There goes calling the police. I turned around to face him.

"Is there any way you could... uhh...leave?" I asked. He was sitting comfortably on the couch, dressed in the same ridiculously outdated clothes he was the last time I saw him. It was kind of cute, honestly. My feelings of fear quickly dissipated. I mean, if he wanted me dead, he would've killed me by now. I just had to laugh - he looked so out of place.
