"Yeah, okay, grandpa. Let's not forget you're immortal and going on one-hundred-thirteen years old. How exactly do you think that'd work?"

I mean, I wouldn't mind, but realistically speaking, it wouldn't work. There's just no way. And what would my parents think, or y/f/n? That I'm a delusional weirdo that has an imaginary vampire boyfriend? Yeah, no thanks - I'll pass.

"It's funny how you try to push me away," Jake laughed, "but there is a way..."

I eyed him suspiciously. "Let me guess. Does it involve me dying?"

"Yes and no." he began, "Rather than draining all your blood, I'd give you a tiny little bite. It'd only hurt a little. I promise. You'd lose consciousness - not for long, though - and wake a vampire! Just like me!"

"OK...uh," I shifted uneasily in my seat, "I'm not sure how I feel about that." I quickly changed the topic. "Want to watch a movie?"

He looked at me with furrowed brows, "What's a movie?" I led him to the living room and turned Mean Girls on. I requested that we sit on opposite sides of the couch, to which he politely obliged.

"Anything to make you comfortable."

What a gentleman. I got up to make myself popcorn a few minutes after it started, and it was there, the kitchen, where I could safely observe him. It was hilarious - to see his changing facial expressions. They went from disbelief to confusion to pure infatuation. His eyes were fixated on the screen and ceased to move even when I returned to my seat.

"Want some popcorn?"

"Sure." he held out his hand so I could fill it.
I rolled my eyes and poured some into his palm. He eagerly scarfed it down and gave me a thumbs up - his way of saying thanks. It wasn't long before I finished the bowl and set it on the coffee table. We were about halfway through the movie when I grabbed the blanket draped over my side of the couch and snuggled it close. The urge to fall asleep was overwhelming.
