Annabeth Chase sat down at the lunch table closest to the doors. She always was big on getting to class early and this guaranteed success. As she set down her lunch, she gazed over at the table next to hers. A guy and a girl were flirting and laughing with all of their friends. Of course everyone was reluctant to attempt becoming friends with Annabeth because of her stormy eyes and confident manner. Everyone was afraid of her and ignored her. As she stared at the couple, she thought of Percy. They were like that, in love and surrounded by the seven, until she was told to go to a high school in Maryland to find other demigods. She begged Chiron to not force her to go but he insisted. Annabeth missed Percy so much but she couldn't have him. Of course she could call him, but it was never the same. Annabeth turned her thoughts back to her lunch and quickly ate it as she read a book.
Suddenly, she felt a tap on her shoulder and she saw Percy standing there. Annabeth leapt into his arms and they crashed to the floor laughing. She gave him a soft kiss on the mouth. Maybe this long distance thing didn't have to be so distant after all.
