Before the sun rose I slipped from her grip. I slowly stood and crept from the room. I joined Brian and Tim on the field. "Mornin'" I yawned.

"Up late last night?" Brian smirked. "Did you take my advice?"

"Yeah, but she came and slept next to me last night. Nothing too crazy happened after I left." I look at Tim, as he kept his eyes on the recruits. "Where did you go last night?" He cocked his head at me.

"Yeah. You came home really late last night after Jeff left." Brian looked suspicious at Tim. Tim scoffed.

"I was just patrolling the area to make sure everything was secure." I could smell the lie through his teeth.  Tim was a bad liar, but Brian always covered him. It normally ended with Brian risking something to cover Tim

"I patrolled before we went home together last night. I locked everything up. You also left all your gear home, including your keys." Brian said as he crossed his arms. "Where were you really?"

"I just went for a walk." Tim argued. "I came home and you were still up drinking so it couldn't have been that long."

"I stayed up and waited for you to get home. Never mind we will just go in circles." Brian said as he noticed a woman that had stopped training. "Why have you stopped?" He called to her.

"We've been just fighting for hours! Can't we get a break?" She said as she turned her attention to Brian. He scoffed almost chuckled.

"Alright you think you've had enough? Please come here." His voice was sarcastic. I was more focused on Tim as he gawked at the teenager. Dirty pig. He devoured her with his eyes with Brian right next to him. "What's your name?"

"Nina." She said with confidence. I don't think she understood where she has found herself. "Why do we have to train so much? The stories never involved this much training. In those you just killed people, and I have. I was never caught."

"Nina those stories get a lot of things wrong." Tim said as his entire demeanor changed. "Don't worry you'll learn."

"Don't be soft on them." Brain snapped. "Nina run around the compound until the sun sets." He ordered. "Tomorrow you will be joining my squad at 0400 hours."

"That is too early!" She complained. She looked over at Tim with big lustful eyes, almost as if she was trying to get him to change Brian's mind. Brian doesn't change his mind often.

"Brian she's just a kid. She needs to adjust to our way of life." Tim defended the teenager. Brian looked at Tim and then over at me. "Don't you agree Jeff?"

"Tim this does not involve Jeff. She is in your squad not Jeff's." Brian looked at Tim. "She can run till the sun rises tomorrow, after that she is on meat prepping duty. She will also still join my group tomorrow. End of discussion." Brian's voice was dark and brooding. "Go Nina. Now." He ordered. The teen grumbled as she walked away from us.

"You need to give these kids a chance to adjust to this Brian." Tim argued.

"Brian is the one in charge, dont forget that Tim." I argued back at Tim. "Its time you respect his decisions. We are just elites he is our commander."

"Jeff dont be an idiot I respect Brian greatly. I mean after all I do sleep in the same house as him." That was always his excuse. You have to respect someone to sleep in the same house as them apparently. I rolled my eyes. "I am Brian's right hand, so I help make decisions." I swear I wanna punch that cocky bitch right in his face, but I hold back for Brian.

"Both of you stop this bickering." Brian kept his eyes locked on the training session. "Your job is to ensure the future of this compound, so I expect you to do so." He gestured to the trainees. "Zero should be up by now, go check on her and Toby." Brian looked over at me. I nodded as walked away from the training field to Toby's cabin. I knocked on the cabin door before opening the door. Toby was sitting on his couch, fear washed over him as I entered.

"I am not here to kill you Toby, Im here to check on you." I said calmly.

"Oh okay." His voice was nervous and shaky. "Take a seat." He gestured to the spot next to him. I sat down.

        "How are you feeling?"

"Like shit. I dont know why but I can feel this wound. Clock is on a mission so there is no one to help me at all here. I cant stand properly."

"Let me see the wound." I said as he lifted his pant leg. He winched while he pulled the fabric over the open wound. It was leaking a white fluid like pus. "Its infected." I stood from the couch. "Where's your liquor?" I asked as I walked to his kitchen. He pointed to the cabinet by the stove. I grabbed a bottle of clear liquid and walked back over to him. "This is gonna hurt a lot, so just be prepared." I said as I slapped his face and dumped a good amount of the liquid onto his leg. He screamed in pain.

"What was the slap for?" His voice was enraged.

"To distract from the pain." I said bluntly. "Guess I didn't slap hard enough." I shrugged and sat back down. "This all could have been avoided, but I think you know that."

"I know, but I couldn't help myself. I dont know what took over me." Toby admitted. "I know he will never forgive me fully, and Tim looked like he was going to kill me."

"Tim is a perverted pussy." I blurted. "You've been here long enough I am sure that you have seen his behavior. He just tries to mirror Brian."

"It sounds like you are more jealous than I am." Toby commented at my outburst.

"Brian is a close friend of mine, nothing more." I said as I stood and rushed from the cabin. Was Toby right? Am I jealous?
