Colorblind: A Jeff The Killer Story

Chapter 13

"Jeff think about what you are doing. Think about Zero, Toby, us." Tim said to me. "Remember all the times I yelled at you for sitting on my porch."  Tim pleaded to me. I looked at Tim and dropped my knife. "Jeff we wont kill him, but he cant stay here. He might hurt Zero or all others in our home."

   "Tim I want him to come with me." Jeff pleaded. "He needs help, Brian please help him." I pleaded to Brian. Brian holstered his pistol and nodded at me . "Thank you Brian." I said. I picked Liu from the ground and carried him to the compound. I was lead by the two other proxies. Once we reached the compound, we all went into Brian and Tim's cabin. I laid my brother on their couch. Brian sat on the floor next to the couch and ripped his pant leg open to see the gunshot wound.

   "When he comes to Tim and I will remain covered until he proves himself trustworthy." Brian said as he began to poke around the hole. Brian began to pull out bullet fragments from his knee. "I will also keep a very close eye on him. Jeff I want you to understand, I will not hesitate."

   "I know Brian , its your job to protect the forest." I said looking at the unconscious man.

  "Jeff keep him from all confidential information, do not give him your keys, handheld, or your laptop with camera access. He might be working with another power and we must take all precautions." Brian said as he stitched the wound closed. "Do I make myself clear?" Brian asked looking at me.

  "Yes Brian." I said harshly.

   "It is now hoodie and masky in front of him. I will make an announcement to the camp." Brian said as he stood up. "He is confined to your cabin until further notice. Get him out of here." I picked up my brother gently. "Protect your house guest from him Jeff, she is part of the new world." I nodded and left the cabin. I carried my brother back to my house and I placed him on my couch. Zero looked at me confused as she came out of the bedroom.

      "Umm Zero this is Liu. My younger brother." I said nervously. "Brian shot him in the leg so he's gonna be in the guest room for a couple days." I said as I picked him back up and took him down the hall to the guest room. It was the first door in the hall. I laid him down on a mattress that was on the floor. I walked back out into the living room and Zero sat on the couch.

      "So why is Liu in here and not the bunkhouse? All new people go into the bunkhouse." She asked. 

       "He had access to the elite channels that's why he's here and not there. Brian thinks he might work for someone else, but he's under my watch until we figure it out." I said as I walked into the kitchen. I pulled a bottle from my liquor cabinet. Zero yawned and stretched. "Go back to bed Zero you have an early day tomorrow." I said as I poured a glass. She went to stand as Brian burst into my cabin. His eyes were tear stained as he walked into my kitchen with me. Zero just stared at him. "What happened?" I asked him.

"Tim is what happened Jeff."I could feel my blood boil as soon as he said that. "Toby has a video of Tim fucking Natalie. He just has it on him. He showed it to me. I just....I can't cover this one up. There's video evidence of it." His voice was shaky and broken. He looked heart broken.

      "Look man you can stay here tonight to get away from him. Can I get you a drink? It might help you calm down." I said as I went to pour him a glass, but he took the bottle from my hand and started to chug it. "That works too I guess." I noticed Zero watching Brian fall apart in my kitchen. I motioned for her to go into the bedroom. Brian noticed this and looked at me.

     "Thanks for the offer, but no thanks." He said as he walked out of the cabin.

      "Zero stay here."I said as I picked up my crowbar which was by my front door and walked out of my cabin. I b-lined for Brian's cabin. I banged on the door. "Tim you need to let me in now." I pulled out my keys and unlocked the door and I entered. I saw Tim sitting on the couch in their living room. "Tim did you sleep with Natalie?"

"The hell are you talking about?" He asked defensively.

"I already know the answer Tim. I'll rephrase my question. Did Toby record you having sex with Natalie?" I asked as my voice filled with venom. I wanted to bash his head in right there. He choked on his glass of whisky and stood up,looking at me with a shocked expression.

"Look Jeff it was an accident." How the hell do you accidentally sleep with someone. "I was drunk and she came onto me. I am just a man. You would have done the same."

"No I wouldn't have. I am not a fucking pig." I said as he moved closer to me. "Problem is Brian saw it. He's just as pissed off as I am. He came to my doorstep seeking guidance."

"Where is Brian?" What does he now all a sudden care about Brian. I shoved him to the ground.

"I don't know where he's at but you fucking stay away from him." I said as I stormed back to my cabin. I watched Tim's door all night long. I never saw Brian return to the cabin.

"Jeff should you go look for for him?" Zero asked and I nodded as I stood from the couch.

"Stay here in case something did happened to him." I said before I left searching for him.
