Each of the pedestrians standing in Stardust avenue at 11:59 AM on the busy Thursday morning all felt it. A powerful gush of wind shooting through the street. Those who blinked only felt the sudden, powerful breeze. Those who didn't could just vaguely make out the blue trail of light before it faded away, and they were left with double the confusion. After all, it's uncommon to see the blue speedster HERE of all places. But unknown to them, this is a product of the most serious of circumstances.
Sonic the Hedgehog takes in the new sights as he blasts across the dull city. At least, he takes in what he CAN see while currently running at the speed of sound. The three-foot-tall blue hedgehog's spikey quills on the back of his head fly around wildly as they're blasted by the wind. His white-gloved hands extend back as he runs, keeping his body on track. In a fraction of a second, the teenager pulls a gold ring from the brown pouch slouched over his left shoulder, and he leaves it on a nearby hotdog stand before snatching a hanging Weiner. The man at the hot dog stand only looks at the rare currency in confusion after it has seemingly materialized out of nowhere.
Now running on the front wall of a plaza, Sonic downs the pork in one bite, which leaves him momentarily satisfied. With all of the excitement this morning, he nearly forgot to get a bite to eat. Not only that, but he'll have to stop by and see what his best bud is up to after this unsuspecting meeting. Sonic hops off the plaza and starts jumping across neighboring rooftops as he continues to think of what Tails might be up to.
How he's managed to live in this bore for so long is beyond me. Sonic thinks to himself. A unpopular opinion the stubborn hedgehog has had since he took his first step in Station Square ten years back. Just being able to tour the luxurious city has always been seen as a huge honor throughout the entirety of Mobius, let alone becoming a citizen. Though, those who weren't human didn't have so much as a prayer of that happening. At least, that was the case before the Metal War. The rare time when Mobians and humans banned together to defeat a common threat. Even with the two species now somewhat integrated, it's still rare to see a Mobian in Station Square, and it's ESPECIALLY rare to see a human step foot in The Outskirts. Well... with the exception of one.
The hedgehog leaps off an apartment building and his red sneakers land on a set of railings leading downward towards the subway. He doesn't even notice the nearby civilians who jump back in shock as he slides past them. Instead, his head is still in his thoughts. The view of the new and "improved" Station Square somehow looked worse from the rooftops. There, it was easy to spot the numerous amounts of GUN surveillance drones. This place has never stopped looking like a warzone, that's for sure. After the news he received yesterday, the humans may have been right to keep it that way. Hopefully not.
As soon as Sonic's feet hit the subway floor, he zooms onto the train tracks and comes up on a passing train within seconds. He hops onto the train, gripping the roof, and peers through the window in front of him. A blonde kid no older than ten is seated next to his Mother, currently occupied with his portable gaming system. Sonic knocks on the window. The young boy turns to the noise and his eyes widen just in time to see the blue blur wink at him before speeding past the train. Sonic always loved to play around with the citizens here. After all, it's unbearably boring. Might as well liven some things up.
But more of that will have to wait until AFTER the meeting. Sonic reaches his stop and runs past the stunned citizens and up to the street where The White House is located. In it, the President awaits his arrival.
