Sky fall- AdeleThe following days were more or less the same as the ones before. You make breakfast then go to the lab, come back to make lunch and dinner then hole back into the lab. Sometimes you may have found yourself in the library or dance studio forgetting the outside world.
True to the Avengers' promise they never made you go on a mission nor really train as much. The only times you did find yourself training was when Loki or Wanda needed someone to practice their magic with and the other was out on a mission.
However, there was one person who you hadn't seen much of. More so that you haven't seen him alone. Natasha was constantly glued to Bucky's side. At first, you were happy that Bucky had found someone else who loves him. That was until Loki made a comment about how she never was that clingy until you got here. She was claiming her territory. That Bucky was hers and not yours.
You were foolish to think that he would have waited for you to find him again. You cursed yourself, feeling nothing more than the little naive neighbourhood girl. The one who had her head in the clouds, daydreaming about her prince in shining armour. You hoped you'd get your fairytale one day. As of right now, you must deal with whatever is thrown your way and make do with that.
Today was like any other ordinary day. Peaceful and quiet as the others were training or working. Until it wasn't. You felt the energy of the room shift before a voice that came without a body attached began speaking. It demanded your presence in the conference room right away. Without a second thought, you rushed down the halls into the staircase, not bothering to wait for the elevator to appear. You don't know what you are diving head first into but what you do know is that the artificial voice seems to have a sense of urgency to it.
Opening the door you realized that all the avengers were there, even the few who were called upon a mission a few days ago. Your mind wasn't focused on them, however. Your vision tunnelled on one specific man who looked worse for wear. Looks as if Bucky has seen a ghost. His skin is pale, sweat drips from his hairline and he couldn't seem to catch his breath. "What happened?" You kneel in front of Bucky but his eyes have a gloss over, not focused on anything in particular. "We don't know. This is how he showed up at the Rendez-vous point." Clint says.
You cup his face in your hands so that his sole attention is on you and no one else. You draw your power out of you and use your calm energy to calm Bucky. The exhaustion of the mission lulls him to sleep. "WHAT DID YOU DO!" Natasha screams, shaking Bucky to wake him up. "Calm down agent Romanoff. All lady Y/N did was relax his mind and it seems that Sergeant Barnes was exhausted from the previous operation and lack of sleep that he passed out." Loki takes your side, defending you. "Lack of sleep? What are you talking about? He goes to bed with me every night and wakes up in the morning beside me." The room was silenced, eyes floating from one person to another. "If no one will tell her then I'd be most happy to do so." Loki crosses his arms, leaning on the wall. His words might have an effect on others but no harm will come to him as he made no personal connections to any of the team. So he loved to relentlessly mix himself in other people's arguments, stirring the pot more, making everything worse. To Loki, it was his only form of entertainment while being stuck on Midgard. "Tell me what?"
"Sergeant Barnes has been sneaking out most nights staying awake and then coming back a few hours before you wake up." Natasha was in shock. She looks around to wonder if the God of lies was lying. But from the way no one could meet her eyes she assumed that Loki was telling the truth. "Before you get mad, Buck asked us not to tell you." Steve, the leader, tries to extinguish the problem before it gets out of hand. "He didn't want you to worry."
You were one of the few people who stayed completely on the sidelines, never one for conflict. You simply observed the events that played in front of you. That being said you saw something hidden behind Steve's eyes as he looked at Natasha. Yet you didn't question it. Because if it is what you think it is, no good will come from it. You haven't moved from your spot on the floor wanting to be as close to Bucky without drawing too much attention. You felt him stir through your connected pinkies.
