The blue light from the screens illuminates the pitch-black room you find yourself locked in. It hasn't been long since you've unlocked the next phases in Sin's master plan but you have been spending each second perfecting the technology to stop her.

"Okay. That's enough." You feel mismatched hands on your shoulders pulling you away. You spin around to face your blue-eyed soldier and he doesn't look too pleased with you. "You barely spend time outside of this lab Rose. I just got my sweet girl back and I barely see her anymore." Your heart clenched. It wasn't that you meant to be locked up in the lab. You didn't even accept any of this. Seeing Bucky again, dealing with your worst nightmare or even having a daughter.

"I'm sorry Buck. It's just I want to protect us. I won't let Sin take away what I just got back." You stand wrapping your arms around his waist and placing your head on his chest. You feel his warmth instantly envelope you. His arms as well wrap around you're truly believing if he doesn't know that you'll disappear.

"Plus we need to celebrate a certain someone's birthday." He mumbles into your hair. You groan forgetting the fact that it was your birthday. You didn't usually celebrate it and for the first time, it had nothing to do with Hydra. But it was rather a cumulation of things. Whether that be the Great Depression or the war, your birthday was always just a day.

"Birthday?! Who's birthday? I did hear birthday, didn't I? Party!" Tony wakes up with a sheet stuck to the side of his face after also spending the night down here at the lab when he should be home with his child and pregnant wife. He was ecstatic when he heard the news but being who he is it also meant that he felt as if he was failing them if he couldn't keep them safe.

You worked day and night figuring out the neural inhibitors. With the help of both Bruce and the Wakandans, the process was sped up. Yet testing needed to be done to make sure that it was functional. You just hope you could do it fast because the set team for these missions was being worked to the bone.

"Please Tony no party." You begged. The centre of attention was not your cup of tea. "Come on Smartie. A party is exactly what we need." He wasn't wrong there. Since you got back from the chalet it's been non-stop work. Whether it was Hydra, Sin or some other evil it's been months since everyone was in the compound simultaneously. "Alright, fine."

"Great. While we are at it, why don't we make it themed? Yeah? Why don't we do the 50's? Perfect." You and Bucky exchanged glances. Unsure of what just happened. Tony was clearly in a world of his own.

"Sorry doll." Bucky has his best sheepish smile on. Now Bucky doesn't have your powers but that doesn't mean he doesn't know what you're feeling. "Too late. You made your bed now you have to lay in it. So I accept you to be dressed to the nines. Understand." You weren't truly mad at him for revealing that it was your birthday or that Tony was running all over the place to make this party possible. But you do like seeing him sweat a little. "Understood. And to top it off you'll get the best present ever." He grabs your chin, lifting it to meet his lips with yours. Pressing a kiss to them you feel his smile against your lips excited for what he has in store.

Bucky didn't let you spend a second in the lab after that. He took you out of the compound to a nearby town. It was small but what made it perfect was no one there really cared for the Avengers or Hydra. Making it the perfect escape for the two of you for a few hours. Those few moments you weren't Hydra's puppets. You got to be Y/N and Bucky. Rose and Sarge.

You smile reminiscing over the past few hours as you fix up your hair for the party. Trying to perfect curls that you haven't done in years. It brings you back to when you'd sit by your vanity backstage perfecting your look for the night. When you were on stage nothing mattered and for a few hours, you felt important in the eyes of society.
