it was now summer, and everything had gone back to normal for the party. eleven and mike were together, and so was arlo and max. there was even something going on between apollo and steve.

𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐎 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐒𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐃 𝐁𝐄𝐓𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐌𝐀𝐗 and lucas. the trio plus percy, will, mike, and eleven were all hiding behind a wall in the hendersons' house so that they could surprise dustin. the curly haired boy was in his room, sulking around because no one from the party had been answering him on their walkies. eleven's eyes were closed, using her powers to bring all of dustin's robotic toys to life, making them walk towards the living room. arlo's eyes were closed, blood dripping from her nose as she used her powers to hide in the shadows of dustin's room -- not physically, but consciously. she watched closely as dustin grabbed the farrah fawcett spray that steve had given him for the snowball, popping the cap off and following his toys into the living room. arlo smiled, moving out of the shadows and back into her body.
"it's working." she whispered, bringing her hand up to wipe the blood from her top lip.
the beeping and audio from the toys were only getting closer, a huge smile making it's way onto arlo's face. she hadn't seen dustin in over a month, and she had missed the boy. max moved closer to the harrington girl, moving her more into lucas so that dustin wouldn't see her. the noises from the toys continued for a few seconds, letting dustin go deeper into the living room. and then arlo heard mike whisper,
