𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐎 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐀𝐌𝐄 arm chair that she was sitting in the night before. her eyes were on max once again, knowing that the mayfield girl hadn't gotten an ounce of sleep. she was still sitting at the desk, back facing everyone while she wrote her letters. arlo wondered what she had written in those letters and who they were for. were they for her? were they apology letters, telling arlo how sorry max was for hurting her so much in so many ways? are shook her head slightly, knowing that the letters were probably not for her. they probably weren't even letters. max was probably just journaling, getting her emotions out.

"okay, be honest." steve started, making his sister take his eyes off of max and put them onto him. he was holding an old newspaper article, pacing the small area in front of the basement stairs. "uh, you guys understand any of this?"

steve, apollo, lucas, percy, dustin, and arlo were given the task of looking through the newspaper articles that robin and nancy had found at the library, trying to get anything on victor creel. he was the only person that had survived vecna's curse, so now they were trying to figure out how he survived so that max could do the same.

"no." lucas shook his head.

"not even a little bit." apollo mumbled from his spot on the floor.

"kinda?" percy answered, although it sounded like a question.
