𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐎 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐆𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐘 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐁𝐄𝐃, max and el being inside of el's bedroom. she was brushing her teeth, thinking about everything that had just happened. the longer she thought about it, the more memories flashed through her mind. everything between what's happening now and what happened when will had first disappeared. the demogorgan, the nightmares, getting chased by the people from the lab, her bleeding out from the scratches on her side, the mind flayer's shadows going inside of her. each memory took it's turn replaying in her mind, making her breathing start to quicken. she leaned on the sink to steady herself, closing her eyes as a whimper left her mouth.
her breathing continue to get faster, the harrington girl bringing a hand up to her chest to stop the ache that appeared. she looked up at herself through the mirror, seeing that there were tears trailing down her flustered cheeks. when the hell did she start crying? she backed away slightly, letting her back meet one of the bathroom walls before she slid down. another whimper left her mouth as the scenery around her flickered between max's bathroom and the upside down. she screwed her eyes shut, clawing at her shirt as she started to think about max, trying to call for her using her shadow abilities.
suddenly, the bathroom door opened up, maxine mayfield standing in the doorway with a look of worry on her face. she had felt arlo trying to get into her mind, which is only something the girl did when it was absolutely necessary. when she had seen that arlo was hyperventilating on the floor with tears rolling down her cheeks, she immediately got down on the floor with her. she quickly cupped arlo's face with her cheeks, wiping the tears away with the pad of her thumbs.
