I looked at the clock above my door. It read at 7:30 pm. I'd get up from my desk, walking back over to the testing chamber to check on Oliver. He was still in the same position he was in when he had fallen. I didn't want to leave him here, so I grabbed a blanket and rolled him in it. After doing so I dragged the blanket with him on it. I thought the break room would be an ok place to leave him. And no one would think of it as weird because most of my coworkers were gone.
I'd leave him in the break room, lying in the small armchair that was inside. Of course I left the blankets with him. But I turned around and left the room. As I walked down the hall I looked to my right down another. It was dark.
I'd walk out of the building and into the cool sunset air. Today was... Very stressful. I wonder what it'll be like tomorrow.
As I walked off down the street, starting my long journey home, I thought to myself. Not thinking of anything specific, just random thoughts.
I'd walk inside of my home late. I'd stopped and went light shopping to get at least some food. Though Sprite and Peps probably already did. I closed the door behind me, the lights were all out and the house was silent. I quietly walked to the kitchen, hoping to put away the food. And I did just that.
After I put away the food, I'd walk down the hall and turn into the bathroom. I'd turn on the lights closing the door. There was still dry oil on me. I turned on the shower, keeping the water temperature lukewarm. I'd then take off my clothes, dump them into a bag on the floor. I walked over to the shower and started to clean myself, it was hard getting the blue and black stains off of me.
After lots of time scrubbing myself, I got most of the oil off of me. I'd turn off the water and walk out, shivering slightly. I grabbed a towel and started to dry myself. After I was finished with the towel I dropped it into the same bag with my clothes.
I then walked to my room, done with the day. I'd walk inside and keep my lights off, leaving my door open just a bit. I'd walk over to my bed, falling face first into and and snuggling into the covers. I was exhausted. I yawned and got in a more comfortable position.
Pretty soon, I was consumed by darkness as I fell into a deep sleep.
After I woke up and got a new set of clothing, I realized I didn't have another lab coat. I'd have to go to work without it for today.
I'd walk to the front door, putting on my (still stained) boots and walking out the door. I'd breathe in and out, twirling my car keys around my finger. I read a note from Sprite saying they had fixed my car so I didn't have to walk.
I'd walk behind my car, making sure nothing was there. After checking I hopped into my car, started it, and sped off to work.
I did all of the things I had done yesterday until I reached my room. I shivered as I remembered what had happened yesterday.
I'd set down my clipboard on my desk, looking up at my clock.
"Hey Coke."
I'd jump and look at the door. Oliver was standing in the doorway, his arms folded.
"Are you feeling ok, Oliver?" I'd ask, walking up to him.
"I'll live." He'd reply, rubbing his arm.
I'd give him a thumbs up. Oliver then walked into my room and went to sit at the desk he did yesterday.
"Have you seen Pepsi?" He'd ask me, turning around.
"No, I don't think he's here yet." I'd reply, looking at my tests for today.
"Coke, he never left."
I froze, looking at Oliver with a questioning glare, "What do you mean 'never left?'" I'd ask.
