Going Home

It's been a day and Dr. Maggie helped me breathe normal air again. She smiled at me and I enjoyed being with her. She was better than all of the other doctors who took care of me.

"So, Coke, you're free to go!" Dr. Maggie said, clapping her hands together quietly.

I felt a big smile appear on my face and a slight blush as well.

"Your friends brought you a change of clothes as well." She said, laying down a neatly folded pile of clothes tied together with a small ribbon.

I nodded my head gratefully.

"Well, this means I have to leave you." Dr. Maggie said.

I nodded sadly. I really liked hanging out with her. But she could just be acting like this because I'm her patient.

"Can I have a hug?" I'd ask.

She nodded her head, "Of course!"

She gave me a big hug and then walked to the door, "Well, hopefully I won't see you soon! Because, you know.. I don't want you to be hurt again." She'd say. "But you're free to walk out whenever!"

She opened the door, waved with a smile, and left the room.

I got out of the bed, my legs still slightly shaky. I sighed, rubbing my arms. My eyes looked at the folded clothing and I walked to it. Untying it, there would be a hoodie, a white shirt, deep blue jeans, of course some socks, and a pair of shoes.

I'd start to undress myself from the old clothes I got at Northway and noticed how stuff they were. I was happy to be taking them off. After that, I'd change into the clothing that was in the bed. They were warm and cozy so I snuggled into them.

Finally, I left the room. I wanted to go home. But which way was the exit?

"Excuse me?" I'd say to a doctor walking past.

"Oh, howdy, you lost, visiting, or leaving?" They asked.

"Leaving." I answered.

"Well then! Congrats." They'd say cheerfully.

My eyes spotted a mass moving behind the doctor. I then noticed they had some kind of leash in their hand. When I looked closely I saw a giant black and white dog with big yellow horns. It has six eyes, two mouths with a grated muzzle covering them, and six arms/legs. It looked kind of familiar...

"You spotted my patient I see?" The doctor said.

"Oh- sorry. But I did." I responded.

"Want to see him?" The doctor asked.

I nodded my head out of curiosity.

"This is Tartarus. He came the same day you did! Too bad he can't leave." The doctor responded.

"Why is there a large screw sticking from his neck?" I asked, noticing there was dry blood that matted the fur around it.

"We were just in our way to get that fixed, although I'm not sure if it can. We tried pulling it out but it's stuck good. Tartarus also seems to function just fine with it for some reason." The doctor stared.

"Oh."

"Want to pet him?" The doctor asked.

I looked at the big dog and it seemed scared.

"I'm not sure if that's the best idea..." I'd say.

"Come on, don't be shy Tartarus." The doctor said, pulling in the leash slightly.

The dog walked out from behind the doctor. It was wearing a red harness that attached to the leash. Tartarus walked forward a bit and sniffed my hand when I reached out. I touched it's nose slightly and it blinked at me. Tartarus then moved his head into my hand. His fur was soft and silky to the touch.
