I shot my head up from my desk. Had I fallen asleep again??
Me and Coke along with some other people were in a place called 'Well Care'. Dumb name. It was a couple days away from Northway Hospital. We're in an entirely different town and zone.
I'm sad that Sebastian couldn't come here with me.. It's lonely...
I had to rent an apartment here, and it's expensive. I don't have much money now, but I'm surviving. Hopefully- I haven't eaten much in the past two weeks. I ate fine the first week I was here but then realized how short in cash I was, so I've been skipping meals for days. Maybe that's why I'm so tired.
I pushed myself out of the chair and grabbed a thin glass screen from the table. Walking over to a test tube that contained green liquid in it, I turned on the light. There lies Coke. Coke has been in a coma for three weeks and hasn't woken up yet.
"When are you going to wake up?" I'd ask, knowing Coke wouldn't respond.
I looked at the glass screen and pressed it with my finger. It lit up and showed different vitals as well as other things like a logbook.
Checking on Cokes vitals, they were almost the same as the day before. Low blood pressure, slow bpm, and silent brainwaves.
I put it down in the logbook and sat on the floor in front of the test tube. The plugs in Cokes arms, chest, and back were filled with wires connecting to the top of the tube. Those were what showed us her vitals.
I sighed, grabbing a pencil from the floor and messing with it. I yawned, rubbing my eyes.
Knock knock.
I got to my feet and walked over to my door, opening it. In came Luster. He was a patient here that was allowed to wander the halls. He has deep blue hair and pale skin that has darker splotches on it. He wore a red beanie and a white shirt with blue jeans and checkered shoes. His height was around 6'2. He has a weird power that lets him mimic other people's voices, which was scary.
"Howdy, Coops!" He'd say, walking in uninvited.
"Luster, why are you in my room? Without permission? Again?!" I'd say in an irritable tone.
"Aww, come in, Copper! It gets lonely out there." He'd say, whining slightly.
For some reason, ever since I was moved here to keep an eye on Coke, he grew a strange bond with me that I didn't grow with him. He always hung around my room now and would barge into my business.
"I'm busy right now." I'd say, walking back in front of the tube and picking up the glass monitor.
"How's 1187 doing?" He'd ask.
I sighed, rubbing my head with a hand, "Coke has a name. Why do you keep calling her 1187?" I asked.
Luster shrugged his shoulders and went to sit at a random desk in my room. At least he was getting out of trouble.
I looked down at the glass tablet and wrote some more stuff down in the logbook. I walked back to my desk and sat down the glass. I sat down, pushing it to the corner of my desk. I relaxed slightly, laying my head down onto my arms. I sighed.
"Coop!"
I jumped, raising my head from my arms, "w.. what do you want Luster?" I'd ask, rubbing my eyes.
"You fell asleep-" he'd say.
"Oh.. oh well." I'd shrug.
"You better be careful with that. If someone catches you, you could get fired." Luster said, walking to the door if my room.
