Clara

I woke up to the sun shining directly against my face, the warmth over my skin. I whined at the bothering light across my eyes then rolled to my other side, fitting right into Hayden's arms. His strong masculine scent surged in my nose, blending in with the natural smell of laundry sheets.

I slowly fluttered my eyes open, staring right at his face and a glimpse of his hard jawline. I fell asleep early last night, and Baby Winston seemed to have enough of me sleeping. I carefully pulled from Hayden then sat on the bed, looking out at the blinded windows.

Today was when King Basin and his family would arrive. They were going to stay at Bruchester Palace, and my mother-in-law insisted Ivor to stay there too. Hayden managed to fight our stay since he hated being around other guests, and I was more comfortable at our home too.

I wore my fluffy slippers, warming my feet to the soft feel. I checked my phone as I walked to the bathroom, replying to text messages. Beatrice updated me often about her life in Tarrin. I smiled at the pictures she sent, and she showed the vegetables she grew with Zelia and Isabella. She had the brightest expression on her face.

Silas checked in with me about Beatrice every now and then. He managed to overcome her departure, but the distance between continued to widen, and it could never be fixed with my mother alive. Her mission at the moment was for Silas to find the perfect wife and gain more reputation than she had.

I finished in the bathroom and walked next door to see Xander. When I opened the door, I peeked my head inside, blinking at his sleeping position. A smile formed on my lips when he held his stuffed car to his chest. I entered the room and pulled the duvet up to his body.

I returned to Hayden and my bedroom and checked the time. I allowed him to sleep in as I went to pick out his clothes. My fingers skimmed along the smoothness of his expensive dress shirts. I went with white then matched it with one of his black ties. We had to join his parents for breakfast and greet the incoming guests, and the breakfast rule always annoyed Hayden because it was too early.

"Clara," Hayden called out in his groggy voice. His morning voice was so deep, eliciting straight out of his chest and turning me weak at the knees whenever I heard it.

I placed his clothes down then headed out to the bedroom. I stood there, seeing him somewhat attempting to open his eyes fully. The half hooded eyes, along with the uncombed bedhead, drowned me in his morning image. He was laying there on his side, staring at me as he blinked. As soon as the little grin appeared on his lips, my heart urged to kiss him crazy.

"Come here," he demanded, curling his finger at me.

I sat at the edge of the bed, and he easily sat up with no hands, leaving a hard kiss on my cheek. "It's not fair how you look like a model," I complained.

"Why do you think your obsessed with me?"

I stared at him helpless, rolling my eyes at his nonsense. He had to be the most arrogant man in the world. I dreaded at how our next child could have his personality. A mini Hayden in appearance was a better option.

"I'm not obsessed with you," I pushed him at the chest. He caught my wrists, leaning in to kiss me, but I shifted back, turning my head away as I laughed.

He managed to steal a kiss, and I quickly had him get ready. I prepared his outfit then went to wake Xander. I knelt beside his bed, and he rubbed his eyes, exactly how Hayden would do it.

Xander and I interlaced hands as I took him to the bathroom. Hayden was finishing up while I had our son started. I kicked the stool to the basin, and Xander stood there, squirting the toothpaste on his car toothbrush.
