Clara

I stepped out of the private plane with Thomas and Miles following behind me. They had their methods to help me avoid any attention since I could easily be noticed by everyone. I told my parents-in-law that I had to make an urgent visit to another place because the team had news about a cure, but I ensured that Josephine and Abbas knew about my plan. They obviously wanted to come with me, but I kept them behind to help me handle other matters while I was gone.

Thomas drove us took to Eryross, the place where Arnaldo moved after he was crowded king. When I arrived, the head maid did a low curtsy, guiding me inside the palace. Nothing changed since the last time I arrived. My eyes wandered around the Italian themed palace. All of the decorations were bright gold, a symbolism for the status and success.

"King Arnaldo is in the living room," the maid gestured at the entrance.

"Thank you," I smiled faintly.

Once I stepped inside, the room was filled with laughs and moans. I furrowed my brows, instantly stopping at my steps as soon as a black panties landed to my feet. My eyes drifted over to the pile of clothes.

I cleared my throat, and a woman popped up from the couch. I recognized it was Nina, and she was slightly surprised of my appearance but not embarrassed. She pushed Arnaldo away from her as she retrieved her clothes.

"Clara," Arnaldo grinned smugly as he approached me.

He tied his robe, and I kicked the panties to his side. He bent down to take it, taking a sniff of the panties and sending me a taunting stare. My stomach churned in disgust at his sick side.

"Hello, Queen Clara," Nina chirped, hooking arms with Arnaldo as she loosely wore her robe. I avoided looking at her cleavage, keeping my glance at Arnaldo.

"I have something to discuss with you," I told Arnaldo, my voice in demand.

The smirk grew on his lips, and he had Nina leave the room. She winked back at him, and he slapped her on the ass, almost like I was invisible to them. His actions continued to prove me that he was never a good husband to begin with.

"Have a seat," he gestured at the arm chair then sat down on the couch.

"No thank you," I rejected politely. "I'm not here to have a reunion."

"Such a feisty mouth. No wonder Hayden really wanted to take you from me. I'm regretting not making you mine instead."

"Stop acting, Arnaldo. I know what you did to one of our towns in Nascadia. Give me the cure. I'm not asking for anything else."

Arnaldo let out a dry chuckle. A maid placed down a glass of wine for him, and he gestured her away. He crossed his legs then swirled the wine around his glass. He shook his head, remaining silent.

"Are you trying to accuse me?" He quirked his brow. "Hayden has so many enemies. He could have other people hurting him instead. Why does it have to be me?"

"Should I call the journalist about what you did?" I threatened.

I tossed the large envelope onto the coffee table. He stopped swirling his wine, taking a glance once he opened the envelope. His expression darkened as soon as he saw what was inside, but he remained calm. He stood up in front of me, his height towering over. I used to be afraid of him, but I had enough of his mess.

"You think any of this would make me afraid?" He growled, holding the envelope right at my face. His fingers tightened around it.

I let out a cold laugh, shaking my head. "I'm not trying to make you afraid. I want your whole country to burn down with you. I want all of your citizens to criticize you and destroy your reputation. You will come down as the worse king in history for Verdeniao."
