Clara
We woke up early in the morning to head to Tarrin. Both Rueben and Simeon took the suitcases and placed them in the trunk. I strapped Xander tightly in his car seat before settling down in between Damien and him. Damien was still asleep.
Once Hayden got into his seat, he drove out of the gates, heading out to the busy streets in Imperos. I instantly recognized the surroundings as we drew closer to town. Evergreen trees occupied the sides, providing the fresh scent of nature with the window rolled down. Hayden parked nearby our new home, and he took the suitcases out.
Xander and I pushed the stroller down, and some people glanced over at us, their heads falling low to murmur with each other. I sent them a small smile and followed Hayden who went ahead to command the security team.
"Look, Mummy," Xander pointed, catching my attention.
My eyes widened once I saw a huge house built on the vast land. It was smaller than our palace back at Imperos, but it was a perfect place for our little family. A three story complex home had two balconies that barricaded the second and third floor. The front porch was furnished with lounge chairs, and it provided the homely atmosphere. The entrance doors reflected the outside. Beige painted the exterior.
Xander released my hand, running straight to the house. He was exclaiming with joy as he looked around our own home.
"This is so beautiful," I whispered, still taking in the design of the house.
"Renovate it if you want to change it," Hayden muttered beside me. He tugged me to his side, his arm loosely around my waist.
I shook my head instantly. "I love it so much, Hayden. Thank you." I kissed his cheek, and he took my hand, leading me into the house.
We opened the gate, and Hayden handed me the key. I slotted it into the lock, turning it to one side before opening the door. Xander dashed inside first as I carried Damien out of the stroller. I removed my heels then stepped into a small hallway that lead to the living room.
The living room was connected with the kitchen and dining area. White and beige coloured the furniture and walls. Bright florescent lights hanged from above. The entire place matched to my dreams of my own simple home. I had never thought that it would come true, and it was Hayden who brought it to life.
"What's wrong?" Hayden furrowed his brows, his hand to the back of my head.
I smiled at him reassuringly. "I never thought that I can have this. I remember when I came here with nothing except our son, but I have so much now because of you."
He pressed his lips to my forehead, running his hand down my strands in a soft matter. "Whatever you want, I would give it to you."
I pulled him into a tight embrace. His warmth reassured me. It clearly marked the reality to my brain. We suffered in the past, but in the end, we survived, and he became my entire world. What I wanted the most was with Hayden.
Hayden showed me around, almost like he was very familiar with the place. Eventually, I learned that our home was built from scratch, and he planned each room with the designer. Hayden was great at surprises unintentionally. It was a side that melted my heart.
When we arrived in Hayden and my bedroom, I didn't expect him to keep the same colour scheme throughout the house, but the beige and white bedding covered over our mattress. A smile rounded on my lips as I noticed the contrast. I preferred the dark colour scheme for him.
"I want to sleep with Mummy and Daddy," Xander cheered. He climbed onto the bed quickly and started jumping on the mattress.
"Stop jumping on the bed," Hayden snapped his eyes at Xander. Our son fell to his knees, bouncing on the mattress as he remained quiet with the innocent look in his eyes.
