I was helping Hayden with the final touches before we headed to dinner to meet King Valdemar and his family. I stood in front of him, knotting his black tie around. When his hands were moving further down from my waist, I let out a gasp, trying to shift from his touch.

"Keep your hands still," I demanded, trying to not be distracted by his touch. He didn't listen and teased me more.

Glaring at him, I sent him a scolding expression, and he surrendered, returning his hands to my waist. I finished with his tie and admired how handsome he looked in his clothes. His muscled figure strained underneath his dress shirt. His tailored dress pants fitted his long legs, and his newly trimmed hair was styled back to reveal his deep prominent facial features.

"Black and white looks good on you," I complimented as I tilted my head back to look at him. His fingers grasped my chin, and he pressed his lips against mine, sucking needily.

He tugged my bottom lip between his teeth slowly as we parted away. He breathed heavily, his eyes darkening at me, and a little smile grew on my lips. I stood on my toes, spoiling a quick kiss on the cheek.

I turned around to change, skimming through my closet to find a dress. I stood on my toes, removing a dress on the hangers. I adjusted the black dress in front of the mirror to even out the creases. The beige fabric straps were over my shoulders, tying into knotted bows. The rest of the black dress was tightly fitted over my figure.

I grabbed a purse and a pair of black platform heels before heading out to the bedroom. I went to Hayden, twirling around to let him see.

"How do I look?" I asked him.

He stood in front of me, his eyes scanning my entire figure. "Fucking beautiful." He murmured, running his finger along my collarbone. "Turn around."

I instantly turned around and heard him opening the drawer. I felt a cold piece on my chest, and when I stared down, a familiar red pendent appeared. Tears swelled in my eyes as I grasped it in my hand, holding back from the crying.

"The necklace," I whispered, facing him again. His hand stroked the back of my head, and I could still remember how I hurt him the most with it. I threw it right in front of his face. The pain in his eyes was still evident back then. "I thought this was broken."

"I asked the store to fix the pendent," he told me. He pushed the hair away from my forehead, and his touch was so soft, like he was afraid to hurt me. "If you dare to take it off again, I'm not going to forgive you."

"Thank you, Hayden. I promise to keep it on forever."

The necklace was the first gift that Hayden ever given me. It meant the world, and I intended to have it with me forever. No matter how old I would be, I needed to have it with me because the necklace reminded how much Hayden loves me.

Xander suddenly dashed into room, embracing me by the legs tightly. He wore brighter colours compared to his dad, and he was a little model on his own. His clothes were from the best boutiques, clothing stores that were recognized by the royal families. We were about attire and appearance, which was why we had the best things.

"You're so handsome," I praised Xander. He flashed me a wide smile, and I lowered down to straighten the creases on his clothes. "Exactly like Daddy."

Xander took my hand, and I grabbed my items once I wore my heels. I hooked arms with Hayden, and we walked to the garage. Hayden opened the door for me, while he placed Xander in the car seat.

Once Hayden drove us away, I stared out at the window. The night drew over the sky with its dark navy blue colour. Glowing like diamonds, the city lights were turned on, outlining the busy office buildings and households. People were walking down the streets, speaking and laughing with each other. The nightlife in Nascadia continued to pull me straight into its beauty.
