"My little KitKat, this is Marco." Hunter introduced his older brother to me with a smile, "and Marco this is my little KitKat" Hunter draped an arm over my shoulders and I laughed but held out my hand to Marco. He had blonde hair and dark brown eyes, he wore jeans and a white top. Okay so basically; he was the opposite of Hunter and me and 2 years older making him 20. He took my hand and shook, smiling warmly at me.
"KitKat ey?" He raised an eyebrow at Hunter and me. "Well, Kate." I stated "Kate Dean but Hunter over here calls me KitKat" I laughed and dumped Hunter's hips with my own.
"Cute" Marco laughed, then looked between Hunter and me and smirked.
"What's with that look?" Hunter asked, he looked a little annoyed.
"You guys make a good couple" Hunter dropped his arm and I stood up straight at Marco's statement.
"No, we're just friends; best friends for that matter. " Hunter said and I nodded. Marco raised a eyebrow but said nothing. He titled his head to the side and watched me, I was getting slightly uncomfortable when he looked away and turned to Hunter, "So, I guess that means this little beauty is single?" Hunter glared at his brother and reluctantly nodded his head.
"Good to know," Marco smiled and I looked down causing Hunter to move closer to me.
I laughed nervously and said, "Well, it was nice meeting you Marco! But I think I should get going, it's getting late."
"Nice meeting you too, K" Marco winked and left the room. I sighed and turned to Hunter who was staring after his brother, actually glaring is a better word for it. It had taken him a long time to introduce me to his family and I wondered why; he explained that he wasn't sure how I'd react to his family and how his family would react to me, not that I was 100% sure what he meant by that. Marco had been away for a while so when I met his parents I didn't meet him, his parents were easy going and they liked me- which was unusual but I didn't mind, I was glad Hunter's family liked me. However Hunter didn't want me around them much, he got better over the year but we were mostly at my house. He was very different from his family; in looks, in personality, in a lot of of ways actually.
"Should we go?" Hunter stopped my internal babble, I smiled and nodded, linking my arm through his and leaning my head on his shoulder.

We walked in silence for a bit then I said, "I like your brother, he's cool" Hunter stopped walking and since our arms were linked, I was jerked back and glared up at him with confusion, "What?" I asked. He shook his head then continued walking, I grabbed his hand and stopped him, slightly confused and slightly annoyed by his sudden change in character. I looked at him for a while, taking him in; his hair, his eyes, his jawline, just him- Hunter. I calmed down, took a step closer to him and placed a hand on his shoulder then said, "What's wrong?" Hunter smiled a cute little shy smile and tried to look away but I caught his chin with my hand and made him look at me, "Talk to me, Hunter. You know you can!" I said, resting my hand on the side of his face. He leaned into my hand closed his eyes, then he looked at me again and said, "It's just what Marco said, okay?" He said in a rush, I gave him a confused look. "About us being a couple" he explained, my eyes widened and I titled my head to the side, I didn't understood why that shook him, people have always said stuff like that to us. "What about it? People always say stuff like that to us, so what?" I asked, slightly scared of his reply, I didn't realize it bugged him so much when people said that. Did he not want people thinking we could date? Was that a bad thing to him?
"Do you think that we would maybe..." He drifted off and looked at the ground, I let him this time and dropped my hand to my side, thinking about it.
"Hunter..." I began but I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to say so when he pulled me into a hug and shook his head I was slightly relieved.
"Not yet" he whispered and kissed my head. My mind was spinning and I looked up at him, he looked like he wanted to say or do something more but couldn't find the words or wasn't sure what action to do. I knew how he felt. He kissed my cheek and wrapped an arm around my shoulder, "Not yet" he whispered again, more to himself then to me.
