I stood outside Hunter's house awkwardly. Marco informed me that Hunter would he home considering he hadn't left the house since the fight. I finally worked up the courage to knock on the door. I heard footsteps approaching and bit my lip, a huge part of me wanting to turn and run away. Hunter opened the door and his eyes widened, mine did as well as I took in his appearance. His black hair that was normally neat and pushed to one side hung sloppily over his face, he wore his 'comfy clothes' that consisted of loose grey pants and a tight fitting black shirt, he often wears it on movie nights but now they looked dirty and worn, in fact he looked like he just woke up. I opened my mouth to say something but nothing came out as I looked at him.
"Kate?" His voice was weak and he looked surprised to see me, "W-what are you doing here?" His confidence was gone and it made my heart drop.
"I-" I didn't know how to finish the sentence so I just flung myself into his arms and hugged him tightly. He didn't respond at first, but soon was holding me against his body and muttering apologizes into my hair.
"I was so stupid my little KitKat, I never meant to do anything that would make me lose you." I could hear how broken the words were, I knew how much strain this actually put on my best friend, he was scared I would never talk to him again. My grip on him tightened and I felt tears prick at my eyes, as they started to fall down my cheeks Hunter pulled away from the hug and looked at me with concern clouding his eyes. He gently wiped the tears away with his thumb and kissed the top of my head.
"Don't ever do anything like that again..." I said softly, he gave me a sad smile and nodded.
"I won't..." He hugged me again then stepped away and gestured for me to come inside. I stepped in and made my way to Hunter's room, not even looking to make sure he was following me because I knew full well that he was.
"Have you uh... Spoken to Marco?" Hunter asked nervously as I sat on his bed.
"Yeah. He kinda came over to my house a few days ago... Apologized and stuff." I said softly and looked down at my hands that were resting in my lap.
"Of course he did..." Hunter's voice was a mix between annoyance, hate and regret. I looked up at him - he was staring off into the distance with a stern look on his face. It was the look he had when he was thinking about something that meant a lot to him.
"What you thinking about?" I asked him, tilting my head a bit to the side. He slowly looked up at me, our eyes locked and neither of us said anything for a good few seconds. He reached up and pushed his hair out his face, a habit he has when he's nervous.
"Nothing." He said after forever, followed by, "I think I'm gonna have a quick shower. Feel at home." He smiled and turned towards the bathroom as I collapsed onto the bed with a huff.

I made my way downstairs to get a drink from the kitchen, as I turned the corner I walked straight into someone.
"Kate? Hey." Jonathan smiled down at me as he took hold of my arm to stop me from falling.
"Hey Jono, didn't know you were here." I smiled back once I found my footing and Jonathan dropped his arm.
"Uh yeah, chilling with Marco." He jerked his chin in the direction of Marcos room and I nodded.
"So you and Hunter cool now?" He asked after a brief and awkward silence.
"Yeah, he's just in the shower. So I thought I'd get something to drink." I said.
"Alright then. I should probably get back to Marco, we were just taking a break so I got some water." He laughed a bit and I smiled. I wanted to ask what break they were taking but he gave my arm one of those slaps that you often give to friends and made his way back to the room. I frowned after him then shook my head a little and walked into the kitchen.

"I'm feeling a lot better." Hunter said and sat across from me at the kitchen table.
"You smell a lot better." I said and scrunched my nose up teasingly, Hunter rolled his eyes but laughed.
"Are we going to talk about this or act like it never happened?" He asked suddenly, his voice serious but his eyes projected the sadness he was feeling.
"I don't know. I feel like if we talk about it I might get angry again, cause you were an idiot." I frowned a little.
"So was Marco!" Hunter said defensively.
"This isn't about Marco. This is about you and me." I gave him a stern look.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have hit your boyfriend, I was wrong." He looked away from me, a slight pout on his lips.
"You're forgiven. It's why I'm here," I reached over and took his hand, "I can never stay mad at you." I saw a smile spread over his face and a small smile twitched at my own lips.
"I do love you, Kate." His blue eyes locked with my green ones, I could tell how serious he was being and that he wanted me to understand how serious he was being.
"I love you too, Hunter." I squeezed his hand, not letting my eyes leave his. He smiled a little and placed a piece of paper on the table. I gave him an odd look before turning my attention to the paper in front of me, it was folded so I couldn't see what was on it. I picked it up and unfolded it, my mouth dropped slightly at the patterns that decorated the page. It was an arrow with beautiful patterns on it and an outline of a cat.
"I thought about it the other day... The arrow would be for you 'cause your name is 'Hunter' and the cat would be for me 'cause I'm 'KitKat'. It has meaning and I thought it was cute." He said sheepishly.
"It's beautiful." I let out a breath of air, my eyes not leaving the page.
"So you like it?" He smiled.
"Yes, Hunter this is the perfect tattoo for us!" I smiled brightly at him.
