Chapter 14: The New Pad

POV: Izzie

We decide to go to Ikea to get a few things. I wanted to have a bed, nightstands, lamps, and a nice coffee table. Ethan wanted a couch. We might not get all of that but at least a bed frame and a couch. Ethan and I woke up at about 6:30AM and got dressed. The closest Ikea was 30 minutes away and opened at 7:00AM. Lucky for us we were on the rode at 6:45AM. I don't know how we do it.

"Ethan I'm so happy!" I say.

"Same," Ethan says in a less excited tone.

"Anything you want to talk about?" I ask.

"Umm nah maybe later," Ethan says while keeping his eyes on the road.

"Okay," I say.

"Make a left turn here and continue straight for ten miles," Siri says.

"Grayson, Conner, and Terrance (Conner's boyfriend) are coming over tomorrow night," he says.

"That's great! I haven't seen Conner since Florida," I say.

"Yeah they want to see the new pad, but I said they should wait until we have our bed and couch and stuff like that set up," Ethan says in a monotone.

"Make the next right turn into the Ikea parking lot," I say to Ethan. Ethan follows and we park.

I didn't realize how big Ikea actually is. I loved everything about it. We have a queen bed, and we got a nice black queen frame. I also got a nice white sheet set. It came with pillow cases, two sheets and a comforter. I loved the contrast of the black finish frame and the light white blankets. Ethan found some nice throw pillows too.

Then we went on to the couch situation. We found a light blue couch that will be a wonderful contrast to our beige walls. It will really pop. Then we got some more throw pillows for the couch that are white.

We still had some time so we looked at the coffee tables. I found this really pretty one hat was glass but then had legs that went in different directions, and their was multiple legs that crossed and it looked super cool. I made Ethan come over and he liked it more than me.

Once we were done shopping, we paid and loaded everything up into the car. I was super excited to get home. While driving Ethan still looked like he was in a funk. I just ignored it and listened to the music playing from Ethan's phone. I love his music taste. It seems like he listens to everything, and that is a big turn on for me.

Finally we got home. Ethan helped unload all of our purchases into our apartment and put them together in seconds. It was crazy. I helped with the bed, while Ethan did the couch. he had the easy part. He didn't have to build a bed. He finished in two hours and then came in to help me. I was half way done. He helped me finish in an hour. I was so surprised when we finished.

"Tonight is going to be fun," I say.

"Why?" Ethan asks.

"Because we have a bed so I can actually sleep!" I say and laugh. Ethan laughs with me.

"Can I sleep too?" Ethan asks with puppy dog eyes.

"No puppy, you need to sleep on the floor where your dog bed is," I say and laugh.

"But what if I'm your handsome boyfriend?" Ethan asks.

"Then you still have to sleep on the floor, unless...."I say.

"What do I have to do I just what to sleep with you," Ethan says.

"WOAH WOAH WOAH what kind of sleep do you mean?" I ask.

"I want to sleep next to you, not sexually GOSH IZZIE DON'T YOU KNOW ME!!!!" Ethan screams and starts to tickle me. I start laughing and squirming around on the neatly made bed.

"ETHAN STOP I'M DYING" I scream and laugh.

"What's the magic word?" Ethan asks.

"UMMMMMM I THINK IT'S ETHAN IS THE BEST BOYFRIEND IN THE WORLD AND I WOULD NEVER LEAVE HIM FIR A MORE ATTRACTIVE BOYFRIEND BECAUSE THERE IS NO BOY MORE ATTRACTIVE THAN ETHAN GRANT DOLAN!!!!!!!!!!" I scream and then he stops tickling me.

"Wow I didn't think that you would of gotten that perfectly!" Ethan says and lays down on the bed.

"Well you know me, your amazing beautiful girlfriend who is pretty much perfect!" I say and laugh.

"I like that little boost of confidence Izz, that was cute," Ethan says.

"Ethan why did you call me Izz?" I ask.

"Because I think that's cute. Do you have a problem with it?" He asks.

"No, It's just weird because Izzie is already short for Isabel so I didn't think anybody would make it shorter," I say.

"Well i'm just that much cooler then, right......"Ethan says in a not so confident tone.

"Yes, yes it does." I say and Ethan becomes more confident. I can tell because his body language became bigger.

"So we should probably get something to eat for dinner...." I say.

"Yeah I guess...... I mean maybe we could order something or I could make something...."Ethan offers.

"Yes!! I would love it if i knew that you can cook. That would put me in a better place so I knew you weren't just eating junk food when you were living with Grayson in that small dorm room," I say.

"How about a nice kale pasta?" Ethan asks.

"Sounds delicious and wonderfully good!" I say and get out my phone.

"Okay it will be done in 30 minutes, just let me go to the store and then I'll start cooking," Ethan says.

"Okay bye babe, see ya soon," I say while scrolling on Instagram.

"Okay bye babe, love you," He says.

"Love you too now leave!" I say and moments later I hear the door close and the keys locking it.

Author's note: Hey guys! Sorry bout not updating but finals took over my life. But now it's summer. Next week I'm leaving the country so don't expect me to update. I'll try and get another chapter in before I leave at the end of the week. DO ALL OF THE FUN STUFF READERS DO AND I'LL SEE YOU GUYS SOON hopefully.
