Realization

"I still don't understand why my compass didn't lead us to True North." Dustin says smacking the compass. "El shut the bridge to the Upside-Down. It shouldn't affect my compass"

"Let me see." Leena says as she holds her hand up (still on Eddie's back). Dustin rolls his eyes before handing the compass over. Leena looks at it for a second and looks around.  "Let's follow it." She says with a smile.

"Um. No. You have a broken leg and we don't know where it'll lead us."

Leena rolls her eyes before squirming off of Eddie's back.

"Fine...I'll follow it myself then."

Leena grabs her crutches and Eddie follows. Everyone gives Eddie a 'what the fuck' look but Eddie shrugs.

"I trust her idea, fuck off." Eddie says, wrapping his hand around Leena's waist.

Everyone exchanges looks before grabbing their stuff and following the pair.

An hour passed before they reached the lake, it was already dark.

"No! No way in hell I'm going back there." Eddie says backing up from Leena's side.

"Fine you don't have to go...but I'm going.." The brown haired girl stated.

Eddie looked at everyone then back at Leena.

"It's dark.."

"Oh I'm sorry I didn't know Vecna stopped killing at night. You're right, let's go back home then." Leena remarked.

Eddie dropped his head before looking up again to meet Leena's eye line. She was already in the boat next to Robin. Steve gave a worried look to Eddie as he and Nancy got in.

"You coming Munson?" Steve asked.

Eddie looked at the group before hopping in.

"Alright kids you guys hide out." Nancy said before her and Steve started paddling.

"Oh hell no!" Dustin said angrily.

"Hell yes now go." Leena says as she throws a crutch at him.

Dustin rolls his eyes before walking away with the others.

Once the group was in the middle of the lake the compass stopped. Leena stopped Nancy and Steve from paddling before looking over the edge of the boat.

"Time to dive." Leena said as she began removing her jacket.

"No! You're basically crippled and I was captain of the swim team. I got this." Steve said.

Eddie turns to Steve and mouths a thank you which Steve returned with a nod.

Once Steve jumps in everything goes silent. Eddie grabs Leena's hand, softly drawing circles on her thumb. Within minutes Steve pops up out of breath.

"There's definitely something down there." Steve said.

"Holy shit." Leena says as she hugs Eddie.

Everyone started laughing when all of a sudden there was movement under Steve. Nancy tries to grab Steve but before she can get to him he is yanked under. Without a second thought Nancy jumped in. Next was Robin. Leena was ready to jump in when Eddie grabbed her.

"No Leena, are you crazy."

"He's my friend Eddie... we need to help." Leena said as she shook herself from Eddie's grip and quickly dived in the water. As she swam down she began to see a red light.

As she kept swimming into it, she suddenly reached a surface. It was cold so Leena quickly tried all her momentum to hoist herself up. After a few failures Eddie comes up underneath her and pushes her up out of the water. Leena grabs Eddie's hand and pulls him out of the water. The pair grab each other and turn to see bats choking Steve. Leena quickly removes her hold on Eddie and dives over to Steve. She bites the bats tail to get it off Steve's neck as Eddie smacks the bats holding his arms and legs down. Steve grabs onto Leena and Eddie helps the two up. Nancy and Robin kill the last of the other bats before turning to everyone else.
