4 - No Roots

A purple-masked turtle barged into the house with two tiny cards between his fingers, ready to be inserted into phones, holding them up as if they were his trophies, metaphorically, for winning. "Hey April! We are here and what's with the request for another set of those sms and mem cards?" My body jerked in reaction to the loud bang, bursting out my tea that I just consumed, choking in surprise at seeing others with blue, orange, and red masks emerge from the shadows.

"APRIL? HE'S "THE GUY YOU KNEW WHO COULD HELP ME"!?" I spat at April with quote on quote fingers. As he spotted me, the purple merely stood there awkwardly with wide eyes. A purple turtle with a bo staff on his other hand muttered to himself as sweat dripped down his forehead with a question mark. "A policewoman?" he asked, sweat still streaming down his forehead.

"Uh, yeah? Why?" April asked as she prepared to respond.

"April, I just don't want more people in danger! And also...turtles!" I went deadpan as I expressed my frustration.

"You don't have to worry, Fae! These guys are fighters as well as ninjas!" April replied confidently, "And we can help you!"

"Ninjas?" But I was still worried, "I don't know--"

"Don't worry about it!" The blue-masked terrapin swooped in and flipped his mask tails like those were his locks of hair, interrupting what I was about to say, "And WOW! April, can you introduce us to this pretty lady?" The turtle cockily swung his arm over my shoulder and wiggling his nonexistent eyebrows as he asked April with stars in his eyes. In response to this, I chuckled a bit. Leo's interaction with me caused Donnie to have mixed feelings, but he couldn't pinpoint a reason. It was the first time he felt this kind of emotion. Yet he kept his cool. A new girl with a police outfit might have worried him because he was paranoid about a wide variety of things that could go wrong.

"Hey, guys!" April said introducing me to the four others who had come, "Fae Hale is a former policewoman."

Now, this got the purple terapin intrigued about me even more, but at the same time, got more suspicious.

"Wow! More like miss Halo for me!" Leo replied smoothly, but earned himself an eyeroll from me.

"Okay, slow down there, pretty boy!" I softly yet sternly spoke to him in a low voice so that he could get the message, as I took his arm off my shoulders because we just met and this little interaction, just was not working for me, even in this situation.

"Ah! Sorry ma'am," He blushed, out of embarrassment, while rubbing the back nape of his neck.

"And Fae, these guys here are my friends! The guy standing next to you is Leonardo," She motions to the blue clad turtle.

I looked at Leonardo at my side noticing things about him that I didn't notice before. Leonardo is a lime green skin, a mustard yellow , and a green-blue with a teal pattern. He has red stripes over his eyes, yellow stripes on his upper arms and thighs, black eyes, three fingers on each hand, and two toes on each foot. He wears a blue with long bandana tails, grey fingerless gloves with blue trim that extend nearly to his elbows, and matching knee-high socks. He also wears a blue belt with a strap that goes over his right shoulder. Attached to his belt are a pair of blue pouches (one on the side and one on the back) and the Turtle emblem placed on the left.

"And the rest of the guys standing behind me are, Donatello in that purple mask, Michealangelo in orange, and Raphael is the big turtle in a red mask! And they call themsleves the Hamato clan!" April introduces with dramatic poses as if these guys were on display, being her favorite heroes of all time, with sparkles forming in her eyes.

I could tell Donatello is a spiny softshell with jade green skin, a light brown , and a brown and green with dark brown spots. The vertebrae of his spine protrude from underneath his carapace and he has geometric purple markings on his shoulders and thighs. He also has a large head, yellow sclerae and teeth, thick black eyebrows, three fingers on each hand, and two toes on each foot. He wears a purple that covers the top of his head with short rectangular bandana tails and a silver pair of asymmetric goggles with one red (right) and one blue (left) lens. He wears purple fingerless gloves and socks, a silver tech-gauntlet on his left wrist with a blue touchscreen, purple knee and elbow pads, a purple belt with matching pouches, and the Turtle emblem placed on the center. He also wears a purple that fits over his real shell.
