Knuckles pov
We zipped through the sky, jet in front and me behind. I never thought I'd see myself working with a thief but this is a drastic situation. I need to make sure my master emerald is safe.
"So what is it with you and this island?" He asked as we inched closer.
"This is home to the master emerald" I explained "and as it's gardein I have to get there before any hard comes to it"
"Is it a big emerald? Is it shiny!" He looked excited.
"Don't even think of touching it" I growled.
"Relax I already have tons of money so I don't need some dumb old emerald" he pouted.
"DUMB!"
"Oh look we're here" he pointed before I could really tear into him.
"Alright kid get us down" I muttered. He nodded and swerved down.
As we reached the ground floor jet began to stumble.
"Whoe" I caught him before he fell "hey talk to me kid. You ok?"
"I think so" he held his hand weakly "I'm getting a weird feeling of de-sa vu. I don't get it. I've never been to an island before"
"Easy kid you just rest" I helped him to the ground "I need to check on my emerald but I'll be right back"
"Don't worry so much. I can take care of myself just fine" he forced a smile. I cast one last worried glance before running up to my emerald.
I ran up those fermillier stairs at record speed until I reached the top. The emerald sat there untouched. I breathed a sigh of relief. It's ok.
"Knuckles" I heard a mysterious voice behind me. I jumped and spun around.
"Who's there!?" I demanded.
"It's me" a girl appeared. She looked like me but with a dress and bandages "please I need your help"
"You need my help? But why? Who are you!" I was creeped out to say the least by the girl's sudden appearance.
"My name is takal and I am no longer of this world" she looked away sadly.
"You're a g-g-ghost!" I started trembling. How am I supposed to fight a ghost!
"Please I need your hel-"
"Gah!" I ran away before she could finish. She called out for me but I didn't listen.
"Hey knuckles, you finish with your emerald thingy-"
"No time kid, we gotta go!" I picked him up and hopped on the board, barely escaping with our lives!
