When Vegas' eyes finally opened again, a few hours and a minor surgery had passed- he was all stitched up, and there wasn't a single pesky piece of metal left in his body. It was ironic how he was now laying in the very same hospital bed his cousin had played in after he'd made it out of the forest with a bullet or two in him as well, the only difference was that this time, they'd switched roles in almost every aspect. Kin was trying to convince Pete to come back and work for him again, but he refused, and joined Vegas at his side he second he noticed his eyes had fluttered open. Pete. Had a bandage wrapped around his biceps where the bullet had grazed him, but beyond that, there wasn't a scratch on his body. Venice was sleeping in Macau's lap who was sprawled out in the corner on a sofa chair also fast asleep, and when Kinn excused himself, not wanting to have a conversation with Vegas right about now, they were left alone. Almost.
"I told you I wouldn't die" Vegas smiled, but Pete didn't seem in the mood to joke around one bit. Instead, he reached out to flick the others forehead hard, both frustrated and infuriated with his partner for having been reckless enough to have gone through with all that. "You should have listened to me when I warned you about that meeting, dumbass. You're a stupid, selfish, reckless, bastard." Pete cursed, his eyes still puffy and red from crying. "You scared the shit out of me. Don't ever do something like that again" he warned before his head fell onto Vegas' lap gently, carefully caressing the bandage on his lovers forearm. Vegas smiled down at him, feeling his heart flutter at the sight. It was one thing knowing the most important person in the world loved you, but seeing them worry for you and want to be close- it was euphoria. Sure, sex was nice and all, especially with Pete, but if this all had started out differently, Vegas would still be absolutely smitten by Pete's beauty. His eyes, his perky, peach-pink lips, his silky black hair and his soft skin. Vegas would drown in the boys scent if only he could. Pete made him behave like an animal- more so than he had ever done before, and it was something only he could do. Vegas had never before been so reckless, so impulsive and aggressive but tender at the same time. He wanted to see Pete write in pain and pleasure, sweating and chained down, helplessly gasping for desperate screams. But he also wanted to see Pete succumb to the pleasure by himself, doing whatever he pleased to pleasure himself while Vegas simply laid back and watched. It had been too long since he'd heard those weak, soft moans. There wasn't a second of the day where Vegas didn't want to shower him in affection and gifts or fuck him senseless in a bathroom stall.
After a minute or two, Pete sat up again, at eye level with Vegas who seemed both remorseful and oddly pleased with the situation. "I'm sorry I said I hated you" Pete whimpered, another lonely tear finding its way down Pete's cheek and falling from his chin onto the blanket that had been keeping Vegas warm while he rested after his surgery. "I'm sorry Vegas. I love you. I love you so much" another tear feel, but Vegas' thumb caught it before it could join the other in the fabric of the blanket, wiping it away gently. "I know. I love you too" their lips met in a slow, soft kiss. Finding both their hands cupping either side of their face or draped around the others neck. Either way, it didn't matter, as it was impossible to distinguish which was which anymore. A sigh of sweet relief pushed itself out of Pete's lungs, a small smile on his face just glad to feel Vegas' warm skin breathe with life. Pete had only ever been that terrified once before, and that was when Vegas held the barrel of a gun to his own chin. Nothing had struck him down the way that sight had, and it still haunted him in his dreams sometimes. What would have happened if he had pulled the trigger then? What would have happened to Venice?
"Ah-ah-ah~" Macau spoke up, his voice laced with mischief as he carefully moved away from under Venice to join Pete's side sitting at the edge of the hospital bed. "Venice and I are here and you two are going at it, huh?" He teased, putting his arm around Pete's shoulder to keep him from running away in embarrassment. "When did you come back?" Vegas asked, looking out the window into the city, glowing despite the sun having disappeared long ago and being replaced by the moon. "I came back while you were out. Just on time too. I was afraid I'd have missed dinner" Vegas scoffed, rolling his eyes and punching his little brothers side. "I'm guessing Pete filled you in in everything?" He asked, his gaze shifting Iver to Venice who was still sleeping soundly. It was quite late now so seeing him exhausted wasn't a surprise. This all must have been quite a mess for him too. "Yeah. I don't mind the thought of a little brother" Macau shrugged, peering over his shoulder to look at Venice as well. Pete squeezed his lips together in a line, inching closer to Vegas and giving his hand a gentle squeeze as to reassure him. "And our mom? You don't feel anything at all?" Macau shook his head, seemingly impartial about even the mention of her. "I never met her. I didn't need her then, I don't need her now. You take good care of me, why would I need to feel anything about someone who wasn't there?"
Vegas wasn't sure whether or not to feel relieved or pity his little brother. He has to grow up entirely without his mom, and for what? So she could go off and have another kid with some asshole that wouldn't take responsibility when it came down to it. Macau wasn't a kid anymore though, he was almost finished with highschool and turning nineteen any day now. He wasn't a kid anymore, he could handle more than a little kid could, and he had. Macau has been through a lot of shit in his life too, no matter how hard Vegas tried to shield him from it. That was the curse of the Minor family. You couldn't escape no matter how hard you tried or how far you ran. Someone would always end up finding you anyway. It was almost funny, really. Turning back to Pete, Vegas raised a brow curiously. "What was Kinn here for?"
"Khun Tankhun asked him to bring me back again, don't worry about it. He said he'll drop by again tomorrow to bring Porsche to visit- though he didn't seem to excited about it" Vegas chuckled, shaking his head. He could practically smell the jealousy exuding from Pete's words and it was adorable. "I only made moves in him because I wanted to tease Kinn. Who needs someone like Porsche when I have something so much better~" Vegas winked, making Macau gag dramatically. "Get a room you two, honestly" he sighed, making Pete blush harder, the sight of which made Vegas' heart flutter. Cute.
"How about you get one and take Venice with you so I can enjoy Pete... And his company in private" Pete pinched him in the side, making Vegas flinch as it was a little too close to the stitched wound on his upper abdomen. "Gross. Oh, and if Porsche comes by before I wake up, tell him to bring his brother with next time. He's kind of cute"
"Huh?!"
