The Next Day:

Me, Mani, Crystal, and Anthony helped my dad in before sitting him on the couch and handing him the remote.

"I've already missed half of this damn game." He said before quickly turning on the tv and automatically turning it to the NFL channel.

"Donnell!" Crystal said before turning the tv down and he sighed before looking back at us

"Thank y'all my love children- who's bag is that ?" He asked before we all turned to look my the stairwell and I noticed it was Chris's

"Oh um, Chris forgot to grab it-"

"Please don't tell me you had that boy over here while I wasn't here, there my one rule that I ask-"

"He wasn't, he left it here after the situation, nothing major." I shrugged and he furrowed his eyebrows at me.

"So be really pulled the trigger huh?" He asked

"Oh he surprisingly pulled that shit." Mani mumbled

"I never would've expected." He said before raising his eyebrows

"We took care of the body, but you have another problem." Anthony said before looking at me and I sighed before eventually speaking

"Desmir was the one who got you and Chris in this situation." I started before explaining to him the full situation including what Chris did last night.

After a while he continued looking at me in shock and eventually spoke

"My nephew ?" He asked and I nodded

"Nah."

"Paps as much as we don't want to believe it the shut adds up." Mani said

"He broke code, so his only way out is to get jumped out of this shit or he gets a bullet, that's fair." Mani said

"Nah." My paps spoke

"That's code, when I tell Dee he's gonna say the same thing, this is a family business, family don't do shit like that." Mani said and he shook his head before slowly standing up and Crystal tried to help him but he moved his arm before slowly making his way upstairs.

"I'll talk to him, just let him think things over before telling Dee at least." She said before following him upstairs and he shut the door behind him.

"Really Mani?" Anthony asked and he put his hands up in surrender

"Fuck Des, and fuck Tye, I'm tired of dealing with shit between both of them niggas." Mani said and I shook my head once he walked away

"Well, obviously we aren't getting a thanksgiving dinner this year, so Pizza Hut or dominos?" Anthony asked and I lightly smiled

"Dominos." I said causing for him to give me a thumbs up and heading out

After a while of silence, I heard my dad and Crystal begin to argue loudly, so I ended up grabbing my keys and I headed towards my car.

I opened the door slowly and she looked at me before raising her eyebrows and clearing her throat.

"Did you forget something the last time you came to visit ?" Kyle asked and I tilted my head at her.

"Now come give me a hug." She smiled before I laughed and went over to hug her

Kyle was my therapist over the summer. She pretty much helped me get through the trauma that I faced after the drive by.
