Hey, I'm Emily Parker and I'm 10 Years old. My brother Simon Parker is 16, and we've been in foster care for 6 years now. I was 4 and my brother was 10 when CPS permanently removed us from the care of our biological parents.
Counseling, programs, nothing worked and was successful in rehabilitating enough for them to keep us, I remember the social worker telling us "they are just too sick to be parents right now."
They both are serving 25 year sentences for drugs, neglect, and a bunch of other things I can't remember. It's hard to remember a lot about our parents but my brother tells me what he can remember.
So how has foster care been? Well that's a good one. We've been in group homes, foster homes, and Simon has even done some juvie time, he just got out a week ago. He was sent to Juvie because our current foster dad Daryl was trying to do things to me that shouldn't be done to a little girl, his wife Pam was at work and So Simon attacked him when he walked in on us in our room and then it just went down hill form there once the neighbors called the police after all the screaming they could hear.
Daryl lied and said Simon got out of control when he was telling him to go to bed, the cops interviewed me and I was too afraid to say anything but cry. Since I couldn't talk the police took Simon to juvie and he was there a month, Daryl said if Simon does one more stunt like that he would have him banned from here. Simon spent a month in juvie and it was the longest month of my life, especially since it's summer break and summer in Manhattan New York City as a 10 year old isn't fun when you don't have any friends close by or in the neighborhood and your brother is in Juvie.
He spent the last month of his sophomore year of high-school in Juvie and still managed to pass.
I just hope when Simon turns 18 he can get me out of the system as well
