"Coming coming!". Mehek hurriedly came and picked up the call as her phone was ringing from long.
"Hello, who is this?". She asked the caller.
"Give the line to my bro, Raj!". The person ordered from other side as Mehek was confused.
"It's a wrong number. Your bro doesn't live here"
"I've dialled it correct. Go and tell Raj that his brother Nikhil has called"
"I told you na, my husband has no brother and moreover his name is Adhiraj not Raj! Raj is called by her mother only!"
"His name is Raj not Adhiraj!"
"Are you crazy? Can't you understand a simple word? Do you think you know better than me about my husband? Don't even try to call here again, huh!". She disconnected the call angrily.
"Idiot!". She murmured angrily.
"What happened, Mehek?". Shikha came behind her.
"An idiot was saying, Adhiraj's name isn't Adhiraj; It's Raj and he was claiming himself as his brother, Nikhil!"
Hearing the name Shikha widened her eyes remembering something bitter things.
"Stupid! Idiot! He thinks, he knows my husband better than me!". Mehek gritted her teeth cursing that man.
"His name was Raj only and my name wasn't Shikha. It was Sheetal". She uttered as Mehek got confused.
"But, I didn't know about it. I thought you just call him as Raj and what about Shikha and Sheetal?"
"No Mehek, he changed his name to Adhiraj from Raj because he wanted to remove everything from his past and it's the time for you to know everything about him"
"Past? I'm not getting anything!"
Shikha took a deep breath as tears rolled down from her cheeks.
"You re crying?". Mehek hurriedly came near her.
"Yes, that's the only thing I can do!"
"Please don't cry and tell me what happened!"
"It's a long story, Mehek! Raj's father and uncle were two brothers and so close to eachother that they used to share everything between them. Nikhil is Raj's uncle's son, his brother, his bestest companion, his friend. They were inseparable from eachother but everything went wrong after Nikhil's mother's death. Raj was just 5 years old then and Nikhil was just 3 years but I didn't let him realise about his mother's demise. I started taking care of him like my own child. I never differentiated between them but__!". Shikha paused while elaborating as more tears came out from her eyes.
"But?". Mehek asked in curiosity.
"Our happy family was destroyed in just seconds!"
"What?"
Shikha took a deep breath and started telling her.
"Raj's father used to stay outside due to his work and I used to stay at home with Raj, Nikhil and that monster, his uncle! After Nikhil's mother's death his nasty eyes fell on me. As Raj's father was staying outside, he took the proper advantage of it. One night after dinner I was feeling dizzy and I collapsed down on the floor suddenly. Raj and Nikhil were sleeping on my room. So they didn't know about anything. Then the most horrible thing happened with me! Next day I found myself in his uncle's room. My whole world shattered in just a night. I thought to tell everyone but I stayed quiet thinking about Raj and Nihil. They were just babies and I didn't want their future to get destroyed by knowing this but this blunder of mine took things in the horrendous way. He started threatening me everyday that if I wouldn't go physical with him then he'd tell everything to his brother and I knew that how much my husband used to belive in him. He wouldn't take a single second to kick me and Raj out of his life. So, I agreed with his proposal helplessly but that night my husband suddenly came and saw us in his room. As usual his brother played the victim card and made me the villain of his foul plays. He told him that I was evoking him in my husband's absence to go physical with him and what not. His anger and frustration were boiling like a volcano. He started slapping me and hitting me with belt. Seeing me crying badly for help, Raj slowly came near me with his baby feet and his mind distracted to Raj. He thought Raj wasn't our child but his brother's. He took the belt and hit my baby mercilessly. His whole body started paining and it made bruises. Raj felt unconscious because of that horrible torture but still he didn't give mercy to my baby. Everyday he used to come in drunken state and used to beat Raj mercilessly locking me in a room. Seeing me crying and begging, Raj stopped crying from that day just to show me that he was strong enough to stand there. After his father left, I ran towards him. I could see bruises and sores in his whole body but I was surprised that he wasn't crying a little for that pain. So, I asked him that why he wasn't crying? He just smiled and wiped my tears. I understood very clearly that his feelings went dead. I asked him again and again to cry for once but he didn't. He didn't let a single tears to come out from his eyes. Next day the same incident again took place but this time he took a knife and was going to kill my baby when my patience broke. I took a vase and hit his forehead. He cried in pain as the knife fell from his hands. Getting a chance, I took Raj in my arms and ran away from there where my eyes were going. We didn't stop and remained running for 2 days without any food and water. I could see Raj was falling unconscious and I had no money. I fed him some water from a roadside tap but food? That's the moment when I started working in some houses for money changing my name Sheetal to Shikha but there also my master kicked me out tagging me as thief. I came to Raj asking for a promise that he would be the king one day and he would drag all those bullshit people under his feet. He agreed with me and made THE ADHIRAJ EMPIRE with his hardwork and intelligence. The name and surname ADHIRAJ SINGHANIA was made by his own as Raj didn't want his past to haunt him again. Then we heard the news of his father's demise and Nikhil was made his uncle's puppet. Our real identity was revealed near him as we got to know that Nikhil's father drove him in a wrong way saying we had deceived his family and the ADHIRAJ EMPIRE isn't Raj's but his uncle's. From that day he is behind us to take his property by killing us". She sighed after telling everything to Mehek.
