"After meeting you, Raj was behaving so different and I didn't know what was happening with him. He thought Nikhil was paying you to harm us but he didn't have enough proof that's why he let you go but then I heard that he transferred Alka to another branch who was the most trustable person to ADHIRAJ GROUP OF COMPANIES where my doubts grew me and I hired her to spy on you both. Yes, she knows everything apart from me. After keeping eyes on you more than weeks we were sure that you're innocent and understood that Adhiraj too had grown some feelings for you. He was softening day by day around you and liking your presence. I was so happy and relaxed seeing him becoming normal again. Moreover, first time I saw love and emotion in his eyes for someone. I started dreaming about you both but the next step of him shocked me to my core. He married you forcefully under threats without even telling me for once. He didn't ask your consent to this marriage. I was angry thinking that I didn't raise my son with such reforms. I asked several times for his sudden shameless act but he stayed mum. Then Alka told me about all the things. Yeah, he married you for a obvious reason and that was to protect you!". Mehek was shocked hearing her mother-in-law.
"To protect me? From whom and moreover why? Why someone would try to hurt me? I haven't done anything wrong to anyone?". Mehek gave a questioning look.
"Yes, you did and that is you've gotten Adhiraj's love and attention. Nikhil can go any extent to hurt Adhiraj and you became the softest target of him. He knows very well he can't break Adhiraj by any means. So, he was going to trap him by hurting you. The one who was trying to molest you was also hired by Nikhil. He was eyeing on you and Adhiraj. They had noticed everything like how he used to care for you, how he was obsessed with you, how he used to take stands for you. When you're trying to go away from him because of the ocean of misunderstandings, they're going to trap you but before that it came under Adhiraj's notice and he forcefully married you. That's why he caged you in the room with him not to dominate you but he didn't want to loose you by any means". She took a deep breath and continued.
"But why he never told me anything?". Mehek asked lowly.
"Because he never wanted you to pity him". Shikha added as she stayed silent.
"I'm not supporting his actions and I'll never as I know very well he made the biggest mistake. Whatever the cause, you can't force a person to marry him and I won't try to defend his actions ever. Adhiraj told me not to reveal anything infront of you. That's why I didn't tell you anything. Will you try to adjust with him or not, will you try to give him a chance or not, will you try to love him or not ; it's on you. I know he didn't go anywhere away from us, he is near us and observing everything. Just taking sometime to build himself with the situations because Adhiraj can take everything but not your rejection, not your hate!"
As soon as she completed her words Mehek rushed towards her room as it was getting difficult for her to take everything at a time. She understood very well in this months that whatever it was but she needed him.
"Where are you, Adhiraj!". The only words echoed in the empty room as she fell on the knees with a thud. Her eyes were filled with tears.
After sometime when she got a little sober her phone ranged as she took it.
"Yes, mumma"
"How are you beta? I'm good, mumma" It was her mother.
"And Adhiraj?"
"He didn't come from his business trip, mumma. Maybe he will take some more time"
She lied but her mother caught something unusual in her voice.
"Something happened?"
"No mumma. I'm just busy. You know here I've to take care of the works"
Mehek said as she hummed.
"Sikha Ji called me some days ago and requested us to come there. So we were thinking of making a visit. It would be better if Adhiraj would be there. You both married privately so that we didn't get any chance for doing any rituals and after your marriage you both got busy, then Adhiraj wasn't here. So this time when we will come we will do all the rituals"
Mehek couldn't reply and only hummed. They talked for some more time and then disconnected the call.
She started remembering his last words and then something clicked in her mind.
"Was she missing something?"
She tried to connect the links and then her eyes widened in realisation. Why didn't she think it before. She made a fool of herself.

Time passed with some positive feelings and some strong connections between hearts.
Mehek got up early from the bed and taking a shower came outside.
"Mehek, driver has come to take you", Shikha said knocking the door of the room.
"I'm coming. Just five minutes more! Please wait!". She muttered and hurriedly went to change herself in a gorgeous green velvet saree and some light diamond necklace.
Then applying the vermilion and touch ups she came downstairs.
"Maa, I'm going". Mehek bid her good bye as she smiled knowing where she was going.
"Okay, come soon and take care of yourself!". She smiled back and left setting herself on the car.
