Chapter 17: The Balancing Act

"Do you wanna come inside, P'Ohm? Fluke asks and Ohm just nods. They enter the building get into the elevator that takes them to Fluke's floor. No one is says a word to the other, both both hearts are breaking. They eventually reach Fluke's door which he opens and goes inside followed by Ohm. Fluke heads into his bedroom and again Ohm follows him.

"I'm going to take a shower first", Fluke says this, but again with blank emotion on his face. He strips out of his clothes and he's stark naked. Grabs the towel and opens the bathroom door. It's like he's been controlled by a remote control. Ohm tries to get to him as he enters the bathroom, but Fluke looks at him as if telling him not to come close, then closes the bathroom door.

In the bathroom, Fluke turns on the faucet. Cold water. Then lets the water soak him as he digests what happened just moments ago. He puts his hand over his mouth as he finally allows himself to cry out his hurt under the cold shower. As he cries out he slides down and crouches on the floor. The words, 'Selene and her suitor Ohm Thitiwat', are still ringing in his ears and he cries even more.

Ohm, who at time is also crouched on the floor with his back leaning against the bathroom door. Hearing Fluke's sobs brings a sting in his heart. He is also trying to figure out what just happened and he's getting angrier. Angry at himself for not protecting Fluke's heart and angry at Selene for putting him in this position. After some time Ohm heard the shower stop, so he gets up and waits for Fluke to come out.

Fluke eventually comes out of the bathroom and then goes and crouches on the chair that is by the window. He looks out to the distance as he puts his arms around his knees giving himself a hug. He then rests his head on his knees and sighs. Every movement he makes, bring a stinging pain in Ohm's heart.

Ohm goes to where Fluke is and gets down on both knees and begs Fluke to give him a chance to explain. Fluke raises his head and looks at Ohm, and gives him a sarcastic smile before he asks, "are you going to explain to me how you're going to juggle two fiancés? ". Ouch, that stings. "Baby please, hear me out. I didn't know they were going to do this. I was blindsided", Ohm tries to explain.
"Were you really blindsided, or ignorant?!" Fluke asked starting to get angry. "All those phone calls you'd take in private. I asked you several times, P'Ohm. I-I asked you if there's was anything wrong, a-and y-you said..." he couldn't finish his sentence as his anger was turning into hurt.
"Baby, I told Selene that there could never be anything between me and her and I thought she understood that. I even introduced you to her as my fiancé. I love only you Fluke. You are the only one in my heart and that's never going to change".
"But your boss... He said.. "
"Baby, forget what he said. I will explain to him. I will set things straight, OK. Please trust me on this. I will never do anything to jeopardise our lives together. I promise you that". As they talk things out, Fluke realises, that it really wasn't Ohm's fault, but he just wishes he told him everything that was happening. Perhaps Ohm does not trust him enough, thats why he is keeping things from him.

"I just wish you didn't keep things from me. I do not keep any secrets from you because I trust you. Do you trust me? ", Fluke says this looking into Ohm's eyes.
"Baby, I trust you with my life", Ohm replies.
"But just not enough to tell me what's going on in your life, right? ", Fluke says this trying to hold back the tears.
"I did not want to hurt you. That's why I did not say anything to you. I thought I'd be able to handle it. I was wrong, baby. I am sorry. I promise I will not keep anything from you. I am sorry. I love you so so much and I don't want to lose you", Ohm says this also trying to hold back his tears. Fluke who at this time has removed his legs from the chair leans closer to Ohm and strokes his face. Ohm feels the comfort and holds Fluke's hand as if telling him not to move it away from his face.

"Baby, I promised you that I'd never leave you. You need to trust my love for you. You have to talk to me. I love you P'Ohm"
"I love you too". They hug each other giving each other comfort

Ohm ended up spending the night with Fluke. They didn't do much, but talked most of the night. Ohm asked Fluke to accompany him to meet Mr Suwan and Selene. Fluke agreed but with reservations. He'd call him in the morning and set up a meeting.

The next morning, Ohm is already up preparing breakfast for Fluke who's still sleeping after a long night. A loud knock in on  door startles Ohm. He drops what he's doing to go open the door. "Earth? What...". Before he could say anything further, Earth confront him with news headlines, about him the hotel magnate's daughter's upcoming nuptials.

"What the hell is this Phi? Where's Fluke and what are you doing here? Haven't you done enough already? You promised me you'd never hurt him Phi!" Earth is hell mad.
"Earth, please calm down. Fluke is still sleeping. You will wake him up", Ohm says trying to calm Earth down.
Aahhh, now you're worried about my Flukie. You weren't thinking about him when you were busy galavanting with that floozie, were you?" Earth is shouting at Ohm. He goes as far as picking up the food that Ohm is preparing and throwing it at him.

The commotion was loud enough to wake Fluke up. He comes out to the kitchen and sees the mess. "P'Ohm, what's happening?", He asks still half asleep. Upon seeing him, Earth to Fluke and gives him a hug. "Fluke, are you alright? I am so so sorry. I shouldn't have trusted that jerk", Earth says giving Ohm the side eye".
"I'm fine, Coo. It was a misunderstanding" Fluke tries to calm Earth down.
"Flukie, I don't know what he told you, but don't take him back"
"Calm down, Earth. Come sit down. I'll make you a cup of coffee. Sit so we can talk", Fluke says to his friend.

The mood in the kitchen is a lot calmer and Ohm and Fluke explained the whole situation and how they are going to see Mr Suwan later. Earth however still holds his brother accountable and puts him on probation.
