Chapter 26: Case Closed

Seeing Fluke so emotional and hurt spurred Ohm into action. He could not delay it more. So he made the call.

What he saw when he walked into Fluke's bedroom broke his heart into pieces. There is Fluke crouching on the floor at the foot of his bed crying. Instinctively, he ran to him and comforted him. He apologized to Fluke for putting him through this, so you can imagine when Fluke asked him to hug him. The one thing he'd been yearning for. Without hesitation Ohm embraced his Fluke. Gosh, he misses this.

Fluke then asked him to carry him to bed because he was just so tired, both emotionally and physically. He was just drained. And again without having to think twice. He scooped him up and carried Fluke to bed and laid him gently under the sheets.

Now here he is looking at his beloved while gently stroking his face. He leans in and kisses Fluke on his temple before he says, "Rest my love". As he was about to stand to leave, he feels a hand holding his, stopping him in his tracks.
"P'Ohm, please stay with me. Please don't leave me", A gentle voice says softly.
"You want me to stay here?", Ohm asks, as if to make sure he heard correctly. Fluke nods and opens the sheets, so Ohm can join him. This warms Ohm's heart. He's been given this chance to have his baby in his arms after such a long time. He gladly obliges and jumps in. As he puts his head on the pillow, Fluke moves close to him and lays his on Ohm's chest and wraps his arms around Ohm who reciprocates the gesture by wrapping his arms around Fluke and kisses his head.

Being this close to Ohm stirs something inside Fluke's heart. He can hear Ohm's heart beating fast. He is feeling an emotion so strong that even he can't explain. His own heartbeat matching that of Ohm's. He sits up and looks at Ohm and Ohm also sits up against the headboard. Fluke moves closer like something is pulling him towards Ohm, and before he knows lets his lips touch Ohm's. He stops for a second and then puts his hand around Ohm's neck to bring him closer and kisses him again. Ohm is taken aback and at first doesn't know how to react, but as Fluke continues to kiss him, Ohm allows himself to kiss him back. They allow their emotions to take them over as they get lost in the kiss. They eventually stop and gasp for air.

"P'Ohm, I don't know how my life with you was before the incident", Fluke says breathlessly with his eyes closed, with his forehead still plastered on Ohm's. They can feel each other's warm breaths.
"What I do know now is what my heart is telling me. I ache for you when you're not around me. My heart is telling me to hold on to you, P'Ohm, but when I saw that woman again today and realized that you two know each other, my heart couldn't take it. It hurts so bad", he continues as Ohm listenes intently. Ohm moves away a little so he could look at Fluke and then cups his face and says, "baby, look at me" which Fluke does. This brings a little smile on Ohm's lips. This closeness makes him giddy inside.

"There's nothing going on between me and Selene. There's only room for one person in my heart, and that person is you. I don't care how long it takes you to regain your memory. I will be here waiting patiently. I love you, Fluke and that's not going to change", he reassures Fluke.
"But you've been busy lately and I thought maybe you were seeing someone else and when I saw that woman again and this time calling out your name...? Fluke gets stopped mid-sentence.
"You keep saying when you saw her again, what do you mean by 'again'?, Ohm asked confusedly. He starts to wonder if Fluke remembers some of the things.
"She's been to the café a few times and she..."
"Did she do anything to you? Did she hurt you? Tell me baby. What did she do to you?" Panic and anger creep into Ohm.
"She hasn't done anything to me, but she'd just glared at me like I took something that belongs to her. She made me really uncomfortable", Fluke explains. Ohm is seething inside.

"Don't worry, hmm? She will not be bothering you anymore" Ohm says as he brushes the strand of hair on Fluke's face to the side with his fingers. Fluke moves close to Ohm and hugs him. Ohm hugs him back. And so they lay down still in the embrace and find themselves in dreamland in the comfort of each other's warm arms.
