Feeling like there is no way out of the misery you are feeling
Having a war inside your head thoughts reeling now losing feeling
Is that what depression feels like?
Having to constantly act like you're happy around others even though you'd rather just stay in your room
Over thinking why God made you but coming to the conclusion that he made a mistake
Is that what depression feels like?
Feeling tired and exhausted physically and mentally
But still trying to wake up every morning even though it hurts just to make others feel happy
Is that what depression feels like?
Envying others because they aren't on that battlefield
They don't hear the gruesome thoughts that hit you like a brick
No, I know what depression feels like.
It's like a beautiful flower
Petals slowly being plucked off by not only the flower
but by the things around it
The flower tries to stay beautiful but eventually the flower is dead an no longer beautiful
Now that once beautiful flower is being thrown away because it is no longer useful
