They say they love you
then deny your love
They say they want you
and ignore your touch
They say they need you
although they turn their back on you
What is it about us?
Do we not deserve to be loved?
Why must they lie to our hearts?
That is damning to the soul
creating bitterness
where bitterness never existed
Leaving us to roam aimlessly
in the abyss
Forever questioning ourselves
asking what the hell is wrong with me, that love will not be returned
