Multiple books littered the library as I tried to find a book that said anything in relation to the Relic. This is hopeless and my time is running out fast. The mark has reached my neck. I wonder if Blanchet saw it, or I did a surprisingly excellent job by hiding it with one of Elizabeth's powders she gave me. I must think. If someone desperately wanted to hide something full of importance, where would they go?
I hastily open an empty notebook and prepare writing with a quill in hand and ink on the corner of the table and began to plot. From what I understand, Blanchet and his father were never close so it would be a dead end if I asked him about possible places his father could hide his most prized possession. I would ask his old butler but unfortunately, he must have died a hundred and fifty years ago which renders me with no leads whatsoever.
If Blanchet's father is a secretive man, he must have a secret passage of some sort that I assume will be the exact location of the scythe.
I begin writing about the qualities of Blanchet senior
: secretive
: manipulative
: selfish
: cold-hearted
Well, that is what I have picked up from Blanchet ranting about his 'useless 'father all the time. There is a secret passage here or somewhere in the castle. I must find a book I once read about the Blanchet bloodline when I was in Manchester. It might do me good to learn more about his ancestry. I must figure out more about His ink to Thanatos. If he possessed the same power as death himself, then he might possess more without his realization.
Now Alexander's qualities
: cold-hearted
: less expressive
: silent but deadly
: secretive
: always gets what he desires
: threatens without reason
: master manipulator
Well, that is longer than I have anticipated. I guess adding will not hurt.
: deceiver
: conniving
I wonder what his weakness is. I must have seen Blanchet's weakness before, and it baffles me how I have never seen it before.
: what is Blanchet's weakness?
I wonder. He does not care about bread and butter. He cares less about any female. Is his Gold his weakness or I am just following dead leads? I sigh as I lean back against the chair. I tap the quill against my forehead, trying my best to figure out the man I thought I knew.
'Oh dear, you sure are making quite an extraordinary art on that angelic face.' The butler exclaimed.
I lightly brushed my hand against my forehead only to see ink on the back of my hand. Darn it, all that thinking made me make a mess of myself.
'Ink!' I angrily threw the quill on the table before sparing the butler another glance. 'I will go clean myself up. '
I stood up from the chair and walked to Blanchet's room. I do hope he does not mind me using his lavatory twice. I barely know this place. As soon as I step inside the lavatory, I waste no time rinsing off the ink with icy water I found inside a jar. As soon as all the remnants of the ink are gone, I smile I am satisfied with being clean again.
I spot Blanchet's letter on the bed but unfortunately this time it is darker in colour. Like someone burned it and quickly retrieved it from the fire. I pick it up as I examine it. This does not make sense. What could have caused the letter to turn ashy and black? I begin searching for any clues only to find a collection of gloves in the bottom drawer of the mirror case.
