I raised my eyebrow, my stone-cold face serving nothing but a stone-cold look. My gaze intensified ; I tapped lightly on the table as I impatiently waited for Zadie to be summoned. It aggravates me not feeling her presence or aura in the room. The beast inside me is restless , banging relentlessly on the realm of normalcy. It aches to leap out , waiting to strike and claim what belongs to it.
'Forgive her for her tardiness, I'm quite sure she will come.' Lady Crowe assured me , but I could not wait longer. I do not feel her presence anywhere.
The butler appeared from whatever room he was in and stared at me. There is something compelling about him. He seems to know more than I anticipated. I gazed at him.
'Where is miss Zadie?' Lady Conway questioned him , but he just looked at all of us and shook his head.
'She ran away.'
'What!' Lady Crowe exclaimed. I could sense disbelief in her tone. I glared at all of them , clearly in shock of Zadie's sudden disappearance.
'Did she say anything or leave anything behind ?' I asked , my voice raspy from being restless the past few weeks. Trying to search for her.
'No but she had a strange mark on her wrist. Like the ancient theta. She is overprotective over it. It seeks to be growing day by day.' Quincy explained and I swallowed hard. I can remember the day I grasped her arm. My grip was tight, and I had no idea it would choose her. She is quite a mystery and her boldness caught me off guard.
I could feel the beast constantly trying to escape , to be let free and possibly be reunited. She has been gone for too long I need to break the barrier for her to cross over. I need to find Zadie; she will lead me to the key on unlocking it.
'She is the one who raided my carriage. She is the one causing havoc in England and the sooner she is captured the better.' I narrowed my eyes at Lady Crowe , knowing very well she helped her escape London , but no human will have it easy when I am on their tale.
She awakened it and now she must pay the price.
'Impossible. Zadie might have been notorious, but she would not do that.' Quincy argued defensively. He leaned against the table to stare deep into my eyes.'You are a liar.'
I smirked before changing my eyes colour to golden brown out of rage.'Am I?'
I managed to send my men to look for her. Bearing a huge base comes in handy when you need help. Especially searching for someone who is quite good at hiding. It has been long since I have been to My manor in Manchester. It serves as a reminder of the one I used to rule with. I sauntered to my of throne room and a portrait of her was the first thing that caught my eye. Her golden hair , innocent blue mesmerizing eyes and her slim face warmed my heart.
It has been decades without her presence. Her death was a mistake, surely there must be a way of bringing her back. She was not immortal like me , but her death was in vain. A man with animalistic behavior was ferocious and refused to stop fighting. Upon seeing , her , he lunged and pierced his teeth on her neck. Sucking the blood out of her. It is something that I cannot understand myself. How would someone do such a thing ? It has always been a mystery unsolved. The kind of mystery that will never be solved unless I can follow the so-called Zadie and she will lead me to where I want to go.
I could easily get rid if her; she is no trouble , and she never will be. She is weak , just a mere human with nothing special that would make her alive. She seems to know enough.
'Sir , we found information on Zadie.' Gerard informed and I turned to look at him.
'I will join you In a second.' I announced and he simply nodded before leaving. I followed him minutes later and walked inside my office.
