The waves calmed down, but the sky was promising something bigger than what I anticipated. Murray is in the study while I am contemplating the worst. I felt her shift. It is something mind-wrecking. I could feel her courage, she is not fearsome anymore and that makes me proud but what was she facing? Did they kidnap her? Try to force themselves on her?
Pacing has turned into my nature and believe me when I say I am slowly going insane. Something is different about Zadie now; I can feel it.
'If want to say something Blanchet, I urge you to speak up.' Murray raised his eyebrow; he is no longer wearing his reading glasses and he seemed to have changed his attire as well. 'What is it?'
'It is none of your business.' I snapped but he chuckled.
He scoffed as he approached me, glancing out at sea. 'I know you better than anyone, the same way you know me more. I might not know a few things about you, but I know how to detect whether something is bothering you or not.'
'It is correct but as I said, it is none of your business Murray. I do not wish to stress you.' I fixated my gaze on the sea as well. It is soon going to be dawn and I hope we are going to find Zadie. I must prepare for war. I know my mother and sister well. Their motives are sinister and have always been. My father was not exactly the best man to walk the earth but so is my mother and sibling.
'Everything concerns me now Blanchet. I know you are beginning to feel her deeply now more than before. If it is her that you want, it is her that you will get. I stand firm with my word Blanchet, and you know that.' I could feel Murray's gaze on me.
A part of me wanted to glance back for approval but I feared doing so. I continued staring out at the dark glistening sea. 'I feel her.' I said, lowly. 'I feel every fibre of her being. Her emotions, I can feel it when there is a certain change in her body, and it is frustrating.' I sighed and glanced up at the sky.
'Love.'
'No 'I protested. 'Do not be foolish.'
Murray chuckled. 'What am I supposed to say? It is blatant now.'
I glared at Murray with the fiery anger I was keeping at bay. 'I am in no mood to entertain your preposterous theories. '
'Why are you so overprotective?' he asked.
'It is called human nature you thwart!'
Murray chuckled again. 'That is not true, and you know it.'
'Lord Blanchet!' someone banged my cabin door relentlessly. I groaned as I woke up from my slumber. I put on my shirt, still unbuttoned. I opened my cabin door to a ranting crew member who have seen something. 'There is a ship ahead of us and it matches the description of captain Nathaniel's ship.'
I quickly put on my shoes and sprinted on deck. He was right. There was a ship far ahead and with the strong scent I am picking up, it is clearly Zadie's but much more different and stronger.' Make the ship sail faster, prepare your swords gentlemen because this is war. '
Murray dropped a barrel of swords in front of me. I ordered my men to grab a weapon and be ready. Something is different with Zadie, but I do not know what. I am yet to find out what changed. I quickly button up my shirt, but I do not bother tucking it in my trousers. The shirt is loose and so is my temper. I am mad at her for leaving and I ought to take her back to me where she belongs.
Murray is sailing the ship and it is quite impressive how fast he is approaching Zadie's ship. My man is already in a fighting formation, ready to attack. We halt next to the ship and surprisingly they were waiting for us as well.
Zadie is on the front, leading the so-called attack. She looks different. I knew it, her eyes. Golden brown like mine. I can see the fire in her eyes. She has never looked more perfect than she looked but something tells me I am about to face her rage through this storm of fire. I have never seen her like this before.
