MATILDA! CHAPTER THIRTY NINE:
JEALOUSLY

The next morning, Liz woke up. It took her a minute to figure out where she was, than she remembered the boy Sam from last night. She sighed, slowly climbing out of bed. She made her way through the house, and to the kitchen that smelt freshly of bacon, potatoes and eggs. She quietly sat down at the table area. She pulled out her phone to see a million missed calls and texts from JJ, Kie and Pope.

"Good morning" Sam said making her put down her phone to look up at him. He had a plate of food in his hands

"Morning" Liz spoke in a raspy voice, her throat very tense

"How are you feeling?" Sam asked as he put the plate down in front of her. He sat down to eat his food as well.

"Sore" Liz stated "I forgot to thank you for last night. If you didn't come I don't know what would've happened"

"Of course. That kids a dick I can tell"

"He's my ex boyfriend. He's been extra kooky since me and my now boyfriend starting dating"

"You have a boyfriend?" Sam asked

"Yeah, his names JJ" she laughed "he's probably worried where i am. All my friends are" Liz sighed

"Do you want me to drive you back home?" He asked

"That would be great" Liz nodded "thank you."

About a half hour later Sam drove Liz to where she knew they would be— the Chateau. Sam pulled his car up and she could tell it got the pogues attention. Specifically JJs. Sam got out the car with liz, and he walked beside her to the Pogues.

"Liz?" Kie asked running up to the girl as JJ and Pope walked behind her "I thought you died" Kie stated as hugged liz. She pulled awya to look at Sam.

"Who's he?" JJ asked

"This is Sam. He saved me from Tommy last night"

"What did Tommy do?"

"They were on the docks and Tommy tried to drown her" Sam spoke

"I didn't ask you" JJ told Sam making Liz furrow her eyebrows

"JJ, it's fine" Liz looked at the blonde who sighed

"We'll I'm gonna go now"

"Yeah maybe it's for the best" JJ muttered but Liz ignored him

"Thanks Sam" Liz said and the boy smiled

"See you around" Sam told her before walking towards his car and driving off. Kie and Pope walked back towards their seats but JJ stayed. She could tell he was bothered.

"Your off with random Kooks now?" JJ asked and Liz turned to him

"What?" Liz said

"He was totally flirting with you"

"He saved my life JJ!" Liz exclaimed "I could've died"

"Why didn't you come to me?"

"JJ I'm sorry" Liz stated "I was tired and Sam offered me a place to stay for the night."

JJ scoffed "okay" he said, turning around and walking back to Kie and Pope.

20 minutes later Kie was playing the ukulele and JJ was putting way to much wax on his board. Liz looked up at him, and he looked frustrated. Liz didn't know why JJ was blowing this out of proportion.
