Niall
---------"What do you think we should do?" Louis asks me, plopping down on the floor next to the window.
I sigh and look at him, defeated. We've been here for an hour, and still haven't figured out what to do with this stupid freaking glass.
"I don't know," I reply in all honesty. "I just don't know anymore."
Him and I both know that I'm not just talking about the wine glass. Louis looks up at me with a sad look in his eyes, and I can't stop the words that come spilling out of my mouth. "Listen, Lou. I know that we fought, but you're my best friend. You know I didn't mean to kiss Eleanor, and I really am sorry that it happend."
He smiles sadly. "Yeah, I know. It's okay. I'm sorry I freaked out about it, I know it's over."
The lock clicks and the door swings open. "Was that so freaking hard?" Jess asks, puttng her hands on her hips and glaring at both of us. "Like, really. All you had to do was apologise, and I wouldn't have had to sit by the door for a fucking HOUR. My ass is numb you know. I can't even feel it."
I laugh and wrap her in a hug. "I can fix that you know," I whisper in her ear. She pushes me away from her and rolls her eyes.
"Go away, you're still in trouble." She gives me a pissed off look, but I can see the corners of her mouth quirking up as she struggles not to smile. "MY ass. So numb. And you are the reason for that being so, and not in a good way."
"Oh really," I say, following her out of the room with Louis trailing behind me. "And what's my punishment."
She turns around and winks. "Follow me, babycakes."
Eagerly, I follow her to our bedroom, and Lou runs the other way realy fast. If what I think is coming next is, he should probably leave the flat. It's going to get loud. When we get to the room, Jess closes the door firmly and locks it, then leans against it with her arms crossed.
"You have no idea what's coming next," she smirks.
"Wanna bet," I murmer, striding over to her and kissing her roughly. She shoves me away.
"Woah there, tiger," she whispers seductivly. "Calm down."
She walks into the en suite bathroom and comes out with a bottle of red hair dye. "This is what you're helping me with."
"Oh you have got to be kidding me," I groan. "You want me to do your hair."
"Or," she says innocently, widening her eyes. "You could always help Lou patch up the wall. Speaking of," she walks over to the door and pulls it open, "LOU!"
"YEAH!" Lou calls back, sounding somewhat weary. Looks like his mind was in the same place mine was when we went into the room.
"FIX THAT WALL!"
"BUT-"
"DON'T MAKE ME COUNT TO THREE!"
She was serious. She would count, and he would die.
"OK, OK! I GET IT! I'M GOING!"
"Good." She shuts the door softly behind her. "Now where were we?" She says, turning back around and facing me with the cutest smile on her face.
"You want me to dye your hair...why?"
"Because I asked very nicely for you to dye it, and since you're in trouble with me for being an idiot, I would do it. Otherwise you're, again, going to be stuck fixing the wall."
I walked into the bathroom and grabbed the gloves that came with the dye. I put them on. "Come here so I can do your hair." She comes and joins me, sitting at my feet. "Jess," I groan. "Please don't get on your knees like that in front of me. You KNOW what I'm going to think."
She looks up and gives me a naughty smile. "Oh," she says all too innocently. "Whoops." She turns around, sitting with her back to me. I look down at her hair and the wild mess of barely controlled curls.
Right.
Liam
--------I come home four hours after I left, the words still replaying in my mind.
"I think we should take a break," Dani said, the look in her eyes unreadable.
I think we should take a break. I think we should take a break.
I think I need a drink.
When I unlock the door, I can't even get one foot in before Jess is on me, hugging me fiercly.
"Where the fuck were you," she asks me. "I ws so worried."
A wave of confusion sweeps over me. Worried? Harry text me when they got home that Jess was pissed as all get out. "Worried?"
She pulls away. "Duh," she says, like this is the most obvious thing in the world.
"Wait," I say, studying her. "Did you..."
"Yup!" She smiles, twirling around, her now blood-red curls flying with her.
"Wow... it looks... uh... good..."
Her eyebrows knit in confusion. "Oh... you don't like it?"
"No! I like it! It's just..." Ugh, I'm too stupid for this right now. I'm too upset over the fact that Dani, the only girl I ever thought I could really love, has just dumped me. ME. What fuckery is that?
And the thing is, I can't help but notice that Jess looks REALLY good. Like...really good.
"Hey," Niall says, walking into the kitchen. "Eyes off my girlfriend's ass."
Waah, I didn't even realise I was staring. But when I look up at Niall, I can see he's smiling good naturedly. "Sorry bro," I say, trying to keep my voice light.
I'm being stupid. I don't like Jess, I know for a fact I don't. I miss Dani. I also caught myself staring at some kind of attractive middle aged woman on the bus ride home. Right. "I'm going to go up to my room..."
Jess looks up at me, concerned. "You OK there?"
I nod. "Uh, yeah. I'm fine, I'm fine."
"I don't believe you," Jess disagrees, biting her lip and leaning into Niall's shoulder. His arm wraps around her and hugs her tightly, his arm a perfect fit around her small shoulders.
I brush past them and briefly stop in the living room to say hi to Lou and Harry. When I finally get to my room, I slam the door shut and collapse on the bed.
"What the hell am I going to do," I moan, covering my face with my hands.
"You could always tell your friend Jessie," a new voice says from the doorway. I look up and see Jessie standing there, leaning against the door frame, one combat-booted foot crossed over the other and her arms crossed over her chest.
I take a deep, shuddering breath. I need to tell someone, and Jess is the one to tell.
"Yeah, sure. Come in."
She nods and closes the door behind her, then comes and sits next to me on the bed. "Dani broke up with me today," I whisper, looking over at her. Her pretty face is slightly blurred from the tears in my eyes, but I can still pretty much see her. Her green eyes are concerned, and her flawless forehead is scrunched up in worry. "I don't know what to do without her."
"Oh Liam," she murmurs, putting her small arm around my shoulders. My head falls onto her shoulder and I just cry. The tears fall and stain her nice shirt. "Shh, shh," she whispers, stroking my hair. "It'll be alright."
"Will it," I ask in a tear choked voice. "Will it?"
"Well," she says, pulling away from me so she can look me in the eye. "That's up to you to decide. I'm going to leave you alone now, I can tell you maybe need to be alone." She smiles a faint smile, and stands up. "You're a good guy," she says, pausing in the doorway to look back at me. "And I know you'll be OK."
"You're not the one going through it," I whisper pathetically. "First I lost Zayn, and now this. At least you have Niall."
She smiles sadly. "You have Niall too. You also have Louis and Harry. They may not be fucking you, but they still love you to death. OK? We all miss Zayn."
She walks out and shuts the door softly behind her.
