Lilly woke up feeling the familiar hard ground below her body. Moving her painfully stiff body she slowly started to get up. She allowed her eyes to adjust to the darkness in the cave before moving towards the exit that was illuminated by the sun's rays.
Taking in the view she wondered where they were seeing as there were no villagers or towns close by. "Where do you think we are?" Lilly asked Diamond through their bond. "The kingdom of Aurora, we are in a forest that not many dare to enter.
"So it's another forbidden forest, I can live with that," Lilly said. "It's not a forbidden forest but home to the leader of the forest guardians. He is the king of the forest and we entered his home without his permission. He will not be happy seeing us here," Diamond said walking towards the entrance.
"Then we should move before we are discovered here," Lilly said. "Where should we go Lilly?" Diamond asked.
"I don't know, Diamond. The forbidden forest is all I have ever known but what do you think of the dragon's last words?" Lilly suddenly asked Diamond.
"It's been bothering me, the truth is his words took me by surprise. I am worried about stronger enemies. How are we going to defeat them? Is there a way to heal a corrupted dragon?" Diamond asked.
"Your royalty, do you think the king of dragons can help clear up some of these questions?" Lilly asked.
"Once a wild dragon leaves an egg behind they usually declare that dragon an outsider. I don't think we will be welcome if we go there," Diamond said.
"But he will destroy the world if something happens to you," Lilly said.
"True, it's because we are all connected, Lilly. Through elements and power through bonds and through blood. He knew when the old one closed his eyes and died," Diamond said.
"Then we need to find a place where we can stay and train in order to get stronger. If we train hard maybe we will awaken or manage to create the power we need to free them on our own," Lilly spoke trying to sound confident in her choice.
Getting ready to leave Lilly looked at the forest that lay below her feet one last time. "I can not let them destroy a place full of beauty and wonder. There are so many good things in this world it's hard for me to believe that it will end if the dark creatures are not stopped," Lilly said.
"They say this forest used to be a forest before the guardians healed the land its been rich with beauty and their devotion shows," Diamond said.
Flying over the forest Lilly could only admire the wonder that lay before her very own eyes. She wished it would stay like this forever but one thing was on her own mind one thing that she didn't dare to mention. "Her dragon had a mate his rider is her future husband together they would be king and queen or Magica. Her destiny as the next queen has already been decided but she didn't know if she wanted this future.
She was used to training and working hard. How is she supposed to agree to sit still all day long? Her thoughts were interrupted by a wild dragon's cry.
"What is that?" Lilly asked.
"A wild dragon needs help, hunters are stealing her eggs. She's calling her mate, to come quickly," Diamond said.
"I really hate hunters, they don't care for anyone but themselves. Let's help them maybe we are closer," Lilly said.
Diamond roared as she came into the valley she landed in front of the female dragon. Lilly recognised the hunters from a previous encounter.
"You never learn do you?" she asked.
"And what are you going to do about it? There are no guardians out here so it's free for the taking," the hunters said laughing out loud.
"Did you forget what happened during our last encounter?" Lilly said with a smile watching the hunter's face go stiff with shock.
Raising her hand she shouted, "wind comes to my aid and binds these hunters."
The wind increased and the hunters were forced into a corner. "Lilly they have a golden dragon egg. Her mate is my brother and he is coming we need to deal with this fast," Diamond said.
"Hand over all the dragon eggs you have," Lilly shouted.
"No they belong to us," the hunter spoke. One pulled an elemental sword from his side and attacked Lilly. She pulled her own sward and the two clashed. Lilly closed her eyes and focused on the energy around her.
Stepping away she lowered her sword and raised her hand. "Fire comes to my aid and burns my enemy to ash," Lilly shouted. She released her power and the hunters were forced to flee but not before they let go of all the dragon eggs.
Diamond looked up into the sky and saw her brother. A dragon much like herself but only bigger. Opening her wings she took off into the sky and Lilly looking around noticed the golden egg was not among the eggs.
"Diamond the hunters still have the golden egg," Lilly shouted.
Flying into the sky the two dragons took off and Lilly could hear their clash with the hunters. She wanted to help them but the female dragon needed help. "Easy I am going to help you," Lilly whispered.
Taking a deep breath she looked at the wounded female dragon and said, "this might hurt but I am going to try and heal you," Lilly whispered.
Raising her hand Lilly focused on the wound imagining the weapons being removed and the wound closing. "Forces of nature, heal this wound. Gather and purify this dragon heal this dragon," Lilly shouted.
She felt her body warm up the wind gather, the water danced and fire erupted from the earth. Clouds gathered and the rain fell on the female dragon as a light covered her wounded body.
The weapons are being removed and the wounds slowly closing and disappearing. Lilly lowered her hand and fell to the ground exhausted. "I haven't done that healing power in a while but looks like you're good as new," Lilly said.
The female dragon gathered her eggs and put them back into the nest. Lilly exhausted watched as a hunter attacked her. "You fool, this is the last time you stole from us," he shouted.
