Lilly Lionheart. The Lost Crown

Chapter 14

It took Lilly a few minutes to realise what the ancient guardian was telling her. "Please teach me ancient guardian," she asked. 

"Very well, close your eyes and feel nature's energy around you. Now gather that energy within you and speak the following words. Ancient guardian, guardian of time bringers of hope bestow me a new power and come to my aid," the old one spoke. 

Lilly did as she was told and opened her eyes to see the ancient unicorn disappearing into thin air. "What is happening old one?" she asked. 

"You have successfully completed your training, my princess. Use my power wisely for I grant it to you, my future queen. I am sure the others will soon find you and each will grant you a new power they will help you in times of great need," the old one said. 

"I don't understand why are you disappearing into thin air?" Lilly asked. 

"Because it was we ancient once that caused Magica's destruction but now with the seal broken you have a chance to take what now belongs rightfully to you," the old one spoke. 

"My prince do not be discouraged about her power or your past. You two have great power you only need to look for it within yourself. Take her and be blessed as the new king and queen of Magica," the old one spoke. 

Lilly felt tears flowing from her eyes as the old one spoke. "Do not cry my queen, you have been blessed with a great future and you have a prince that already loves you dearly," the old one spoke. 

"But why must this come at the cost of your life?" Lilly asked. 

"I am at the end of my life, my queen. I have seen many things in my life both good and bad. It's never easy to lose a life but the blessing comes as new life is born. I have lived a long time many of the ancient ones that I once shared adventures with are no longer alive. I must go and join them but fear not. My replacement will be helpful and soon you will meet her. As she is the one that will crown you as the official king and queen of Magica," the old one said. 

"Goodbye dear old friend," Lilly spoke she felt someone hugging her she looked to see it was the prince the old one spoke to. 

She saw the old one's horn light up and saw a powerfull ball of light form at the top. The ball off light floated to her and disapeared into her body. She felt power surging within her and then as if it sensed no danger it disapeared. Exhausted and tiered she felt a need to sleep wash over her body. 

"Thank you for all you have done old one," he said. 

"No thank you, now I can finally rest in peace. Long live the king and queen of Magica," the old one said. Everyone was silent as the last of the old one's hair disappeared into the sky. 

Diamond who felt the sorrow of her rider roared in sorrow releasing an echo over the mountains. Soon many others joined in on their song and Lilly pulled away from the prince and looked up at the sky. 

"He will be missed my dear," the prince said. 

"My name is Lilly Lionheart, I don't think we have been introduced?" she said. 

"Lilly what a lovely name, my name is Leo because of a crime I committed I do not have a surname as I have been banished from my father's kingdom but it used to be Von Dike," Leo said. 

"Leo, I like that name, Leo Lionheart it sounds like your a man destined to be king?" Lilly joked. 

Leo kissed Lilly out of nowhere at first she was surprised but then she kissed back and the men cheered. Lilly pulled away embarrassed looking at everyone. 

Lilly spotted a male dragon laying on the ground sleeping next to Diamond. "I suppose that is her mate and your partner," she asked. 

"Yes, that's Thunder, he is a royal lightning crystal dragon," Leo said. 

"Diamond is a crystal rainbow type. I haven't found a skill she couldn't use," Lilly said. 

"I am familiar with her kind, my family has been guarding them for years now my future wife has one and I intent to keep my family promise," Leo said. 

"But I do think we need rules here," Lilly said. 

"What rules are you talking about?" Leo asked. 

"No dragon eggs until this dark creature's problem has been solved and we successfully moved into Magica's palace. "If you have eggs now we might now be able to protect them out there," Lilly said in a strict voice. Both dragons looked at one another and Thunder spoke to both of them in their minds. The same goes for you two as well," he said.

Lilly smiled and said, "I am happy we have an understanding you two." 

"Now let's get you back to bed," Leo said. 

"I am not that tired you know Leo," Lilly said. 

"You pushed yourself very far, time to rest our journey to Magica won't be an easy one, my love," Leo said. 

The two of them went into the tent and Lilly lay on the soft bed before asking Leo to lay down with her. You don't have to sleep just stay with me until I fall asleep," she asked. 

He climbed into bed with her and held her close to him until she fell asleep. He felt her body relax and soon realised how tired she really was. He couldn't help but wonder when the last time she really had the ability to rest. 

He closed his eyes to rest feeling his own body's exhaustion. When he woke up it was when his close friend touched his shoulder. "Leo your brother is on his way a messenger arrived and he said not to run," the rider said. 

"What does he want now?" Leo asked. 

"I don't know but we should wake her up as well. If the ancient once know about her then he will know about her as well," the rider said. 

Leo woke up Lilly and said, "your should wake up love, my brother is coming and I don't want him catching you asleep." 

Lilly freshened up and decided to get herself some water to drink from the nearby river.
