Lilly Lionheart. The Lost Crown

Chapter 22

Avalon grew jealous of this power and vowed to take it for itself. The prince stole the crown princess when she was only a few days old. Not knowing who took the princess the king and queen were devastated many investigated but no one was able to find her. 

Years later the princess was forced to marry the prince of Avalon and she had a child. A prince and all though she was happy no one in the palace was happy for the prince didn't have the power they thought he would have. They declared war on Mythica and soon many humans and mythical creatures alike died. 

In the last days of the kingdom as the king and queen were on their death bed they learned who stole their daughter. The guardians failed to see that the kingdom of Avalon was responsible in fact it was the guardians that leaked the news of the royal family's power to the kingdom of Avalon. 

Winning the war against Mythica the king of Avalon started using dragons and mythical creatures to fight off any enemy he got his hands on. He created the rules and laws that enabled him to control everyone. 

More dragon riders appeared and the king sought more power every day. The dark wizard was not seen during the king's rule for the king himself became the very darkness he wanted to fight.

Then a young prince from a faraway kingdom learned the truth behind the war that destroyed the kingdom of Mythica. He and his dragon left the kingdom in order to claim the Mythica crown for himself. He fought hard and during one of the raids on the palace, he kidnapped the princess of Avalon. 

Fear is what she felt in her heart but soon she learned to love the prince. Happy to have met the love of his life he introduced her to his parents where they soon were married and started having a family of their own. 

The war soon became a forgotten memory until years later the king of Avalon recognized his sister sitting in the garden of a palace in Crystalia. Happy he found her he was angry when he realized who stole her from him but the princess had a forgiving heart and showed her brother what peace looked like. The prince returned to Avalon and soon the kingdom too celebrated the peace it deserved. The dark wizard returned once again but the kingdoms worked together and defeated the wizard leaving him without air and almost a century later a new dark wizard appeared out for revenge.  

"But why does he want revenge?" Lilly asked. 

"Because Lilly your father killed sealed his wife's power away for it's banned in Avalon for women to have power," the old woman said. 

"Was she killed because she couldn't protect herself?" Lilly asked. 

"Yes, the wizard went to seek help breaking the seal from his family but seeing how weak the woman was they didn't help. She was killed and the wizard took to the mountain seeking revenge, and he knew where to find the power he needed to win this war," the old woman said. 

"He took his son and went deep into the mountain training teaching learning the skills of the dark and eventually when he felt ready to attack. Taking as many creatures as he could handle. The war was terrible but by some miracle, it was won and the wizard was locked up. Peace returned once more until now, now that the wizard has the help of another wizard his son," the old woman said. 

"What is going to happen now?" Lilly asked. 

"The only thing they care about is revenge, Avalon will fall without the elder's help but with the return of Magica. The king does not have much choice in the matter. Either he chooses to fight the two wizards and Avalon can look forward to another new generation or he can take back Magica and risk losing it all," the old woman said. 

"What can we do?" Lilly asked. 

"Take back the crown of Magica, build the kingdom, and protect its borders. Avalon has to take responsibility for its actions and only after the elders approved of Avalon's decision will they ask Magica for help but only after they deem you worthy of its power and knowledge," the old woman said. 

"But what about the dark wizard and the kingdoms it's not only Avalon affected?" Lilly asked. 

"True but Avalon started this war and Avalon must end it. The dark wizard only exists for the reason of greed, anger, and revenge. If Avalon and the affected kingdoms can overcome this then and only then will they truly win this war," the old lady said.

"The kingdom of Magica, the reason the dark wizard returned was that the kingdom of Avalon refused to grant the princess the crown of Magica. That's why the mythical creatures helped the wizard in gaining the power but why would they help him if he is out to harm every living creature?" Lilly asked. 

"Because the one that helped the dark wizard is the dragon his wife was bonded two a guardian without a rider became corrupted and in pain she made a bad decision thinking all is lost," the old lady said. 

"Like Diamond and me?" Lilly asked. 

"Yes, like Diamond and you, you see the pain you feel is the source of the dark wizard's power. The more pain the victim feels the more acceptable they are to the dark magic but there is one way to cleanse it," the old woman said. 

"What is it?" Lilly asked. 

"You and your dragon must go to the lake of reflection purify yourselves with its water by bathing in it and spend time listening to the sounds and voices of nature. The guardian elders will come to you and they will aid you in your recovery. They will grant you the power to heal not only your selves but those around you," the old woman said. 

"Can it really be that easy?" Lilly asked excitedly. 

"Only you can determine if it will work remember the key to unlocking your power is closer than you think," the old one said. 

"What about my baby? Will the lake harm the baby inside me?" Lilly asked. 

Smiling the old lady said, "No child, your baby will be saved as long as you take care of yourself." The old woman and her partner left the princess knowing she would now be okay freed from the darkness that clouded her mind. Giving her hope that something can help her. The truth was that the only person that can help Lilly is Lilly herself for the reason she does not have her power Lilly closed off her own mind to those around her and only when she opened up once again will she feel the freedom she so desperately seeks.
