Walking through the Lower Grounds. Music being heard, mostly deafening. Bottles and cups clanking, yells echoing, cries going around, sounds of punches being thrown.

This was the town near where we live. The only place safe enough for us to get necessary stuff like food and meds.

We walked by some random tall guy who had a bow on his back. He stared at us from underneath his cloak. What does he want anyways?

Makaela and I keep walking and walk into a nearby store, going straight to the medicine section and checking what we could take for Halo.

The same strange man walks in and goes to pay something, though he didn't pick anything to buy.

"You saw him too right?" I whisper to Makaela trying to act normal. She nods as we put small pots of painkillers and vitamins in my bag.

"Why does everything have to be so damn pricey..." Makaela softly spoke. "These are the outskirts, anything that comes here is imported from somewhere else" I sigh and go to get crackers.

Looking back to the counter, the strange man was gone. Maybe he just wanted some cigars, it's the only thing they don't sell openly.

"Do you think Ash will like these?" Makaela broke the silence that worried me and I nodded. She had found his favorite snack, and surprisingly at a good price.

We walked to the counter and payed the crackers and snacks, begging for the pots of medicine not be heard moving around in my bag.

The cashier paid no attention to the struggle in our faces as we paid and left walking quickly.

Seeing a man fly out of a window in front of us, I stop Makaela in her tracks just in time to not get squashed.

"Would you like a drink?" Looking at the man on the floor I smile and then look at her. "Why not" she smiles and we both walk into the tavern the man had flown out of.

We had come to this tavern before and the bar tender is the only nice guy around. At first we thought we'd be greeted by punks staring at us weird but this time. We were surrounded by little gray...aliens?

They were a blueish gray, mumbling little high pitched squeaks, most of them had aprons and were showing us little notepads as if to take our orders.

Both of us were confused as to how the guy went flying through the window when everyone was sat down and eating or drinking peacefully.

"Ah! If it isn't my good old pals!" The bartender shouts in a rough scottish accent as Makaela and I look at him.

"Jack! I see you've found workers to help you out" Makaela says trying to not stomp the little creatures.

We made it to the bar and sat down on the stools, Makaela already telling Jack our order and me? Still looking at the creatures surrounding us, as if we were some type of good omen.

"Hey, um...what's up with them?" I ask Jack signaling to the floor. The creatures were dancing now, there was a faint piano and violin playing in the background but it would be less expected to see little creatures dancing very enthusiastically to it.

"Oh, those are Indruls...at least I call them that" Jack stated. "They just showed up here, as if they followed something" he stated.

"That's weird, don't you think?" I say, my drink being poured in a cup in front of me.

"They are very curious creatures, they actually set peace in here at least. And they're into doing stuff to keep time passing so, they're all I ever needed" he said smiling and giving the little gray aliens tasks, though they already made themselves occupied.

I look at Makaela and raise my cup, "for Halo's health, and for our dream to leave this shit hole". She giggled and repeated as we clanked the cups together making a toast before sipping from them.

Makaela suddenly asked, "Do you think Krensa and Halo have something going on?". THAT caught me off guard, almost choking on my drink I swallowed before spitting anything out.

"That's sudden! Where did that question even come from?" I ask her gasping slightly. She shrugs, "I don't know, I've just seen Krensa very worried, a lot more than usual" she takes a sip out of her cup.

I stay quiet thinking for a little before answering, "Halo means a lot to all of us, but she's a light elf like him, only he can truly know how she feels when something happens emotionally to her"

Makaela nods, "that's true, he stayed by her side yesterday night. He didn't want to go to sleep in his hammock, he just wanted to be with her." She stated as I drank.

Putting down my cup I nod and slightly smile. "It's funny how we're all so stubborn, yet Krensa is the only one who knows we're problematic and still heals us and cares for us"

"He's a good kid" she adds "but from what I saw yesterday, we need to help him control his emotions. Any of us could turn into a weakness for him"

I nod and down my cup in one go, "then we better go and help Halo get better before anything more serious happens" I was about to get up until I heard a squeak from underneath where my foot was.

Looking down I see one Indrul covering his head, leaning down I softly speak. "Hey little guy, I'm not gonna hurt you" I whisper before tapping him off to another table.

Makaela nudges me in the shoulder. I look down at her face making a questionable look. "What?". She shrugs and begins walking, "that was cute" she says looking over her shoulder.

I chuckle and drink what was left of her cup, can't let that go to waste. We walked outside and I saw the same hooded man, standing across the muddy street.

I pull up Makaela and I's hoods and grab her hand, begining to walk faster than before. At last, we got merged into a crowd and lost the guy. Who was he...and what the fuck did he want. It must be important if he waited that long.
